Radio Free Alice<\/a> have announced their debut album \u2018What\u2019s In Between\u2019, and released an energetic new single \u2018Crying With You\u2019. Check it out below.<\/p>\n

The Melbourne post-punk band\u2019s long-awaited debut album is due for release on October 30 via Atlantic Records, and is available to pre-order here<\/a>.<\/p>\n

So far, they\u2019ve already shared the emotional and lively single \u2018Kick In The Shins\u2019, which saw them explore themes of isolation and confusion<\/a>. Now, they\u2019ve shared its follow-up, the frenetic \u2018Crying With You\u2019.<\/p>\n

The track was written during a writing retreat in California\u2019s Joshua Tree. \u201cWe were staying at this beautiful property owned by producer Nicolas Vernhes, surrounded by desert and Joshua trees for about a week and recorded a handful of demos and jams,\u201d frontman Noah Learmonth explained.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe verse and chorus were originally different songs, but we stitched them together, which is something we like to do quite a lot,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

The track comes alongside a music video directed by Milo Hume. Check it out below.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

With the album, the band continue their work with Ewan Pearson (Depeche Mode<\/a>,\u00a0Metronomy<\/a>) and Peter Katis (Interpol<\/a>,\u00a0The National<\/a>).<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s a huge relief to finally announce the album,\u201d Learmonth said. \u201cWe\u2019ve lived with these songs for such a long time and they\u2019ve become such a big part of our lives, so knowing there\u2019s now a date when they\u2019ll finally exist outside of us feels incredibly cathartic.\u201d<\/p>\n

Following multiple sold-out shows across 2025, this year alone has already seen Radio Free Alice join\u00a0Geese<\/a>\u00a0for their sold-out February tour of Australia, and make their debut at New York\u2019s Governor\u2019s Ball.<\/p>\n

Last year, Radio Free Alice made their way onto the\u00a0NME 100 list<\/a>, and were described as \u201crevitalising the distinct \u201980s basslines and sharp guitar riffs of The Smiths and Joy Division\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cMelbourne\u2019s Radio Free Alice have\u00a0staked their claim as a rising force<\/a>,\u201d the entry added. \u201cFrom the slick and sexy \u2018Spain\u2019 to the riveting \u2018On The Ground\u2019, they\u2019ve displayed their strength in transforming nostalgic, gritty post-punk sounds into something much more sleek and concise. The band are due to spend some time in the UK, where new music is soon to come\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n
