Jake Reiner gave his first interview eight months after the deaths of his parents, Rob Reiner and Michele Reiner<\/a> \u2014 and the arrest of his brother, Nick Reiner,<\/a> for the murders.<\/p>\n

\u201cI physically lost my parents. And then Nick was arrested<\/a>. \u2026 He\u2019s in jail,\u201d the 35-year-old said in a Thursday preview on \u201cGood Morning America\u201d of his KABC-TV sit-down (via People<\/a>).<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd now it\u2019s me and Romy,\u201d he continued, referencing his 28-year-old sibling<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Jake Reiner gave his first sit-down interview regarding parents Rob Reiner and Michele Reiner\u2019s deaths \u2014 and brother Nick Reiner\u2019s arrest \u2014 on Thursday.<\/p>\n

The 30-year-old appeared on KABC-TV, with a preview clip airing on \u201cGood Morning America.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s been eight months,\u201d Jake noted. \u201cIt feels like eight years at the same time. And it also feels like eight minutes.\u201d<\/p>\n

He explained, \u201cEvery moment that I wake up, I\u2019m reminded of my reality.\u201d<\/p>\n

Jake recalled the moment he learned of Rob and Michele\u2019s December 2025 slayings<\/a> via phone call, saying, \u201cRomy told me our dad was dead and then she said, \u2018I can\u2019t find mom.’\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIt feels like eight years at the same time,\u201d he told viewers. \u201cAnd it also feels like eight minutes.\u201d<\/p>\n

He noted his late parents gave him, Romy and Nick, 32, \u201cunconditional love\u201d before their passing.<\/p>\n

Jake first commented on the couple\u2019s \u201chorrific and devastating\u201d killings<\/a> in a joint statement with his sister last year.<\/p>\n

\u201cWords cannot even begin to describe the unimaginable pain we are experiencing every moment of the day,\u201d they wrote, in part. \u201c[This] is something that no one should ever experience. They weren\u2019t just our parents; they were our best friends.\u201d<\/p>\n

Four months later, Jake penned a moving essay \u2014 and broke his silence<\/a> on Nick being taken into custody.<\/p>\n

He went on to describe the moment sister Romy Reiner called him to deliver the news in December 2025. @michelereiner\/Instagram<\/p>\n

Pointing out that Nick (pictured above on Feb. 23) is \u201cin jail,\u201d Jake said, \u201cI physically lost my parents. And then Nick was arrested. \u2026 And now it\u2019s me and Romy.\u201d via REUTERS<\/p>\n

\u201cWe lost more than half of\u00a0our family<\/a>\u00a0that night in the most violent way imaginable,\u201d he wrote via Substack in April. \u201cSure, any loss of a parent is devastating, but nothing compares to losing both of them at the same time and, on top of that, having your brother be at the center of it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Jake, who called the tragedy \u201calmost too impossible to process\u201d at the time, described his bond<\/a> with his parents on his \u201cIncline: Dodgers\u201d podcast in May.<\/p>\n

Romy, for her part, has yet to speak publicly about the murders.<\/p>\n

While she and Jake have not been present at Nick\u2019s court appearances<\/a>, where he has pleaded not guilty<\/a>, news broke earlier this month that the duo testified before the grand jury<\/a> that indicted their brother.<\/p>\n

Jake has since written an essay and spoken on a podcast about the murders. Jake Reiner\/Substack<\/p>\n

The content of their testimony is not known at this time.<\/p>\n

A pre-trial hearing for the murder case is scheduled for Sept. 15.<\/p>\n
