Kickoff is set for 5 p.m., at Mosaic Stadium.

“I think people like evening games … Saturday night … end of the summer,” said third-year Roughriders defensive lineman Benoit Marion, who played his first 31 CFL regular-season games with Toronto.

“I think they’re rallying behind us to get a win after two weeks where we haven’t got one, so it’s going to be exciting. It’s going to be loud.

“We’ve practised with the crowd noise all week. It’s always special to play here when it’s packed and it’s super loud. There’s not a better stadium.”

Crowd noise can be a distraction for visiting offences. At the same time, an elevated decibel level can create accompanying communication-related challenges for the home side’s defence. Marion and his cohorts will happily navigate through any inconvenience.

“The fans show up and they’re passionate,” he said. “They’re loud. They support us. People of Saskatchewan are good people who love football.

“They love come out and have a good time, so we try to put the best product out there on the field for them.”

By accomplishing that, the Roughriders can perform at a level that befits the defending Grey Cup champions.

“We always want to protect our house,” Marion said. “I think we have that little edge when we play at home.

“We just want to get back in the win column this week. We’ve had a great week of practice — falling in love with the details and getting better with our execution.

“We know the recipe to success. We’ve just got to apply it. We’ve drifted away from it a little bit in the last couple of weeks with turnovers and penalties and the little details.

“In no way are we in panic mode. We’re just excited to get back at it.”

Anticipating excitement in the stands fuels the energy leading up to the game.

“When the offence makes a big play, everybody will be cheering,” receiver Dhel Duncan-Busby said. “It’ll be the same whenever the defence makes a big play.

“With the crowd noise in general when their offence is out there, hopefully we can get a couple of more penalties (called against the opposition).

“It’ll be a really cool atmosphere. It’s kind of like Labour Day before Labour Day.”

DHEL’S DOING WELL

Duncan-Busby has already established a career high for touchdown receptions.

He scored his third major of the 2026 season when the Roughriders faced the host B.C. Lions on Sunday.

Duncan-Busby has played in nine games this season. He scored twice in 18 games last year.

“I’m obviously happy about it, but there’s still a lot of work to be done,” he said about his production in 2026. “Individual accolades are cool, but the last game … I wish we’d won the game.

“Those are the kinds of things you want to focus on a little bit more. Everything else kind of falls into line.

“We’re chasing that ring.”

The Roughriders’ third-round selection (23rd overall) in the 2024 CFL Canadian Draft, Duncan-Busby has 21 catches for 274 yards this season. He is closing in on his career highs, set last year, of 29 receptions for 355 yards.

INJURY INQUIRY

Duncan-Busby has been a consistent presence on offence this season, along with fellow receiver KeeSean Johnson.

Elsewhere in the receiving corps — and at the running back position — there has been a revolving door due to injuries to key performers such as Kian Schaffer-Baker, Samuel Emilus and A.J. Ouellette.

With that in mind, Trevor Harris was asked if the injuries can be disruptive.

“If I were on your side of the fence, I’d understand,” the Roughriders’ starting quarterback told reporters. “I’d probably point to it and say, ‘That’s a factor,’ but we’re just staying in the moment. Who’s in the lineup this week? Who have we got? How can we go out and execute at the highest ability we can?

“Excuses … nobody cares. You need to go out and produce. Everybody’s playing through some sort of injury or tough thing that they’re feeling in their body. Nobody cares. You’ve got to go out there and get it done. That’s what it comes down to.

“Nobody’s going to hold themselves to a higher standard than myself, this offence, this team. Trust me when I say the urgency is being placed.”

The Saskatchewan Roughriders’ players plan to sell out for the fans — ideally in front of a sellout…

[437
49,48,521,522,520,82
post-873777","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-cfl","tag-ca","tag-canada","tag-canadian-football-league","tag-canadianfootballleague","tag-cfl","tag-sports
["GET
