{"id":874023,"date":"2026-08-28T02:28:13","date_gmt":"2026-08-28T02:28:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/874023\/"},"modified":"2026-08-28T02:28:13","modified_gmt":"2026-08-28T02:28:13","slug":"google-gives-pixel-phones-another-2-sweet-new-icons","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/874023\/","title":{"rendered":"Google Gives Pixel Phones Another 2 Sweet New Icons"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We talked earlier in the week about Google <a href=\"https:\/\/www.droid-life.com\/2026\/08\/25\/pixel-phones-get-lots-of-new-icons-clock-camera-more\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">updating several Pixel app icons<\/a> to a new gradient style. Those updates included the Camera, Settings, Thermometer, and Clock, but today, they\u2019ve given us another two.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On your Pixel phone, be on the lookout for updates on Google Play to the Calculator and My Pixel apps, as they\u2019ve both been blessed with fancy new icons.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We\u2019ve captured them above, but you can see that we once again get the subtle new gradient styling that Google has chosen for Pixel icons. The Calculator app is also switching to a green color palette. <\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For the My Pixel app, Google has replaced the previous blue gradient icon that showed a default Pixel phone with one that apparently matches the color of your Pixel 11. For example, the icon you see here is from my Pixel 11 Pro in Obsidian, while the icon on my review Pixel 11 Pro XL in Olive is indeed an Olive icon. That\u2019s kind of neat. Hopefully, they backwards expand that to older Pixel phones.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"980\" height=\"898\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml,%3Csvg%20xmlns=\" http:=\"\" alt=\"New Pixel icons - Calculator and My Pixel\" class=\"wp-image-324094\" data-lazy- data-lazy- data-lazy-src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/New-Pixel-icons-980x898.jpg\"\/><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It\u2019s 2026 and we\u2019re all-the-way-in on gradients again.
