\t\t\t\tThe fallout from Good Good Golf\u2019s controversial advert has continued after the brand lost two of its key partners.<\/p>\n
Good Good Golf will no longer be the sponsor of a PGA Tour event in November following the backlash from a controversial video portraying a man pushing a female employee to the ground. <\/p>\n
In an advert which has since been deleted, Good Good\u2019s co-founder Garrett Clark shoved fellow content creator Alexis Miestowski and shouted: \u201cDo not touch my new driver.\u201d<\/p>\n
The video, promoting a co-branded driver with Callaway, sparked uproar for portraying and making light of violence against women. <\/p>\n
On Thursday, Callaway announced it was severing ties with Good Good, effective immediately. The club manufacturer issued an extended apology saying it would be donating $1million to support organizations that work to prevent domestic violence against women.<\/p>\n
\u201cOver the past several days, we have listened and reflected deeply on the hurt and disappointment caused by the video we reposted,\u201d Callaway\u2019s statement read. \u201cWe heard from individuals who shared personal experiences related to violence against women, and their stories were powerful reminders that this issue touches the lives of far too many people.<\/p>\n
\u201cUnequivocally, violence against women is unacceptable and should never be trivialized, normalized, or used as entertainment.\u201d<\/p>\n
Several hours later, it was confirmed that Good Good would be stepping away from their title sponsorship agreement with the PGA Tour for a tournament slated for November 12-15 in Texas.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe recognize that we have work to do as an organization, and our focus right now is on our team, our culture and ensuring we learn from this situation,\u201d Good Good said in a statement. \u201cWe are grateful for our relationship with the PGA Tour and appreciate their partnership over the years. We remain committed to earning back trust, and we hope to work together in the future.\u201d<\/p>\n
The PGA Tour added: \u201cWe agree with their decision to use this time to focus on their organization and the work ahead. The PGA Tour believes in golf\u2019s ability to bring people together and create a welcoming environment for all.\u201d<\/p>\n
