Former BBC producer Gareth Davies \u2014 who has worked with some of the biggest female pop singers in music history \u2014 says Shania Twain was \u201cone of the biggest\u00a0divas\u201d he met during his time in the industry.<\/p>\n
\u201cWith Shania Twain, as soon as she was asked to come on stage at \u2018Top of the Pops,\u2019 there was this very long line of entourage running one after the other, almost like a conga,\u201d Davies recalled in an exclusive interview with Page Six, referring to the popular British television program. <\/p>\n
Davies claimed that Twain \u201cdoesn\u2019t open doors,\u201d prompting her team to race ahead of her to ensure they reached each exit first.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey were basically all running to the next door, the next door, the next door through the BBC corridors to make sure that when Shania started walking, she didn\u2019t have to slow down at any point,\u201d he said. <\/p>\n
\u201cIt was quite fascinating to see \u2026 It was sort of like this regimented, rehearsed line that if someone faltered, if someone didn\u2019t get to the door before Shania did, they might be in trouble,\u201d he claimed, describing it as feeling \u201ca little bit overkill.\u201d<\/p>\n
The former stage manager then dubbed Jennifer Lopez the \u201csassiest\u201d celebrity<\/a> he\u2019d ever encountered.<\/p>\n \u201cI think she\u2019s sort of perhaps built a career on being the queen of sass in a way,\u201d Davies said.<\/p>\n The country music star (seen here in May) allegedly had her entourage open all the doors for her. Getty Images<\/p>\n The founder of The Presenter Studio\u00a0<\/a>explained that he also worked with J.Lo behind the scenes of the BBC\u2019s popular \u201cTop of the Pops\u201d program.<\/p>\n \u201cShe had all her dressing rooms decorated in white,\u201d Davies recalled. \u201cIt was like this white plastic film that went everywhere.\u201d<\/p>\n Davies explained that the dressing rooms were \u201creally old-fashioned\u201d and small. <\/p>\n \u201cShe managed to take over a whole corridor and got all of those rooms decked out [in] white, which for the BBC back in those days, this felt very unusual,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n Davies told Page Six that Jennifer Lopez (seen here in 2021) had some very specific backstage demands. Mark Allan\/Globe Photos\/ZUMA Press Wire \/ Shutterstock<\/p>\n Davies also said that the \u201cLove Don\u2019t Cost A Thing\u201d singer<\/a> required a white microphone on stage.<\/p>\n \u201cA lot of time, money, and effort was spent on making sure that J.Lo perhaps felt as sassy as what she kind of wants to be backstage,\u201d Davies said, adding, \u201cThat was fun to see.\u201d<\/p>\n A rep for Twain had no comment when contacted by Page Six, while reps for Lopez did not return Page Six\u2019s request for comment.<\/p>\n
