With that play alone, the former First-Team All-Pro likely cemented his spot as CB3 behind Josh Jobe and Devon Witherspoon. Is that a good thing or just a sign that Seattle’s cornerback group is a weak link? Maybe a bit of both, but maybe Diggs can shock many and be very good in 2026.<\/p>\n
Loser: Cornerback Noah Igbinoghene<\/p>\n
If Diggs was a winner, someone had to be a loser, but Igbinoghene didn’t need any help in that department. With the Chiefs facing third down deep in Seattle territory, Kansas City threw a swing pass that Igbinoghene was about eight yards from and allowed an easy first down.<\/p>\n
Those kinds of plays cannot happen in real games, and what made the play worse is that the veteran corner knows he is battling for a job. He’s had a decent camp, but not transformative, and thanks to Diggs’ play, Igbinoghene will probably be looking for another job soon. Oh, and also he was hurt by the short-term brilliance of Nehemiah Pritchett.<\/p>\n
Winner: Cornerback Nehemiah Pritchett<\/p>\n
That’s because on third and goal in the second quarter, the Chiefs threw a slant pass that should have resulted in a touchdown, except that Pritchett was able to get his arm into the receiver and knock the ball away. Fundamentally, it was perfect coverage.<\/p>\n
Pritchett is entering his third season with the team and was a bit better last year. That wasn’t necessarily difficult to do, though, as he was awful as a rookie. Still, maybe he has something to build on, and he is beginning to look like a potentially fine backup cornerback. Let’s just hope he never needs to be a starter.<\/p>\n
Loser: Offensive tackle Logan Brown<\/p>\n
Brown was unlikely to make the roster anyway, but he has built some trust with the Seattle Seahawks coaching staff after spending some time on the practice squad last year. In the second quarter, however, he allowed quarterback Jalen Milroe to be hit on the blindside, which led to a sack and fumble. <\/p>\n
The offensive tackle just doesn’t have the athleticism or strength to be a good player in the NFL. If he is getting beaten easily by backups, imagine how atrocious he would be against starters from other teams. He likely shouldn’t land back on the practice squad this season. <\/p>\n
Winner: Quarterback Jalen Milroe<\/p>\n
In the half that mattered (the first half), when Seattle still had some backups in and the Chiefs had a handful of starters, Milroe was quite sharp with his passes, especially over the middle, and appeared to have good control of the offense. He was especially good at throws between 10 and 20 yards.<\/p>\n
His offense only scored three points, but that was partly due to a backwards pass that Jacardia Wright let bounce off his hands for a fumble. Milroe was also sacked from the blindside on the play involving Foster above. Was Milroe worthy of being QB1? No, but he definitely looked much better than last year.<\/p>\n
Winner: Wide receiver Cody White<\/p>\n
This might imply Montorie Foster Jr. was a loser since he was outplayed by White, but calling Foster a loser would be unfair. The truth is that White simply reminded people that he can be a decent receiver. He doesn’t have elite speed, but he’s big enough to offer a good catch radius. <\/p>\n
