Brazilian, from Santos on the S\u00e3o Paulo coast. Thirty-five, 5ft 7in, and dropping to 125lb for the first time in her career after spending her whole UFC run at 135. Professional record of 7-4, with six of the seven wins coming inside the distance. Muay Thai black belt who won two world titles in Thailand before she ever put on four-ounce gloves. Started training at thirteen because she was anxious and unhappy with her weight.<\/p>\n
The nickname is Thai Panther, and there is nothing clever behind it. She hits like a Thai fighter because she is one.<\/p>\n
An anxious kid and her father\u2019s idea<\/p>\n
Lisboa was born on 2 March 1991 and grew up in Santos, the port city that most people outside Brazil know for its soccer club. She was a heavy child and, by her own account, a badly anxious one. Her father pushed the family towards martial arts gyms as a fix for both.<\/p>\n
It worked faster than anyone expected. She had a local fight at fourteen. By sixteen she had made her Muay Thai debut, and she has not had a year away from combat sport since.<\/p>\n
Told UFC.com she started training \u201cfor weight loss and to control anxiety\u201d before the sport took over her life entirely.<\/p>\n
Two belts in Thailand<\/p>\n
The Muay Thai career is the part of her record that gets skipped over most often, and it is the most decorated thing she owns. Brazilian titles, South American titles, state titles, a black belt in the discipline. Then Thailand, where she won two professional world titles<\/a> and claims to be the only Brazilian woman to do it twice.<\/p>\n \u201cI won two world titles in Thailand,\u201d she said before her Octagon debut.<\/p>\n Seventeen years in combat sport before that debut. Only six of them in MMA.<\/p>\n A brutal welcome to mixed martial arts<\/p>\n Her first professional MMA fight, on 3 September 2016 at Jungle Fight 90, ended with Norma Dumont<\/a> choking her out in under three minutes of the opening round. Dumont went on to build a long UFC career. Lisboa went back to the gym and disappeared from the pro record for three years.<\/p>\n When she came back in 2019 she started stopping people. A corner stoppage over Mara Suzamaque. An arm-triangle on Daline Gomes Silvestre in October 2020. A points loss to Lorrany Santos the following month was the last time anybody would beat her for nearly five years.<\/p>\n Then came the run that got her signed. Leticia Hile knocked out in the first. Gloria Amaral knocked out in the first. Concei\u00e7\u00e3o Oliveira submitted with another arm-triangle in April 2022.<\/p>\n Her manager rang later that year. She did not believe it until the contract physically arrived.<\/p>\n Charlotte, and the coach who could not get there<\/p>\n The debut came on 13 May 2023 in Charlotte, opening the card against Australian veteran Jessica-Rose Clark. Lisboa took her into deep water and sank a rear-naked choke with forty seconds left in the third.<\/p>\n Bruno \u201cPolengo\u201d Rebelo, the coach who had guided her out of Muay Thai and into MMA and had been with her roughly six years by then, watched it from Brazil. Visa problems kept him out of the United States for the biggest night of her working life.<\/p>\n Five months later she out-pointed Ravena Oliveira<\/a> over three rounds in Las Vegas. She fought that one on a wrecked knee.<\/p>\n Five hundred and eighty-one days<\/p>\n The knee needed surgery, and the recovery ran far longer than anybody planned. Lisboa spent nineteen months out of competition and has been open about how close she came to losing the career entirely, describing anger, fear and sadness through the rehab and moments where she doubted she would fight again. Ag Fight reported her return date<\/a> once she was cleared, a fortnight shy of two full years since anyone had seen her compete.<\/p>\n She told Sherdog she was \u201crising from the ashes and very happy to be back\u201d<\/a> ahead of the comeback, having prepared at the Damas 013 camp in her home city under Rebelo and the striking and jiu-jitsu coaches she has kept around her for years.<\/p>\n The comeback did not go to plan. Luana Santos<\/a> caught her in an americana with one second left in the second round on 17 May 2025. Five months after that, Melissa Croden<\/a> beat her up from top position in Vancouver and got the stoppage with twenty-eight seconds left in the fight.<\/p>\n Two losses, both after she had been taken down and held there.<\/p>\n Down to 125<\/p>\n The response has been to change divisions. Lisboa is reportedly booked against OKTAGON double champion Lucia Szabov\u00e1<\/a> at Women\u2019s Flyweight on 31 October at the Meta APEX in Las Vegas, the first 125lb fight of her professional career.<\/p>\n It is a Muay Thai fighter against a Muay Thai fighter, which is the kind of matchmaking that tends to produce something worth watching. Lucia Szabov\u00e1<\/a> arrives unbeaten and undefeated across two divisions in Europe. Lisboa arrives with four Octagon appearances, a rebuilt knee and the sharpest striking she has ever carried into a lower weight class.<\/p>\n She has been fighting since she was fourteen.
