Ultimately, the former UFC star and current BKFC standout took a short-notice MMA bout with Brandon Jenkins.<\/p>\n<p>While Perry swarmed Jenkins early, he ended up suffering a dislocation. This allowed Jenkins to blitz Perry, dropping him and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bjpenn.com\/mma-news\/dillon-danis\/dillon-danis-delivers-cold-reaction-to-mike-perrys-upset-loss-to-brandon-jenkins-amid-shoulder-injury\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">finishing the fight via TKO<\/a>. It\u2019s a big upset loss, although many wonder how things would\u2019ve played out if the injury never occurred. Jenkins has taken credit for landing an elbow that caused the dislocation.<\/p>\n<p>In a statement posted on his <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/PlatinumPerry\/status\/2094445234461540408\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">X page<\/a>, Perry discussed the importance of looking after his health in the world of combat sports.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHealth is wealth,\u201d Perry wrote. \u201cThe MMA lifestyle taking care of the body, mind and spirit. The gym helps the process of growing your strength, but strength is needed in other areas of life and should be exercised Everywhere we go. Organize, be consistent, more recovery and stretching. Taking knowledge into my future endeavors. More to work for, more work to do.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s a disappointing follow-up for Perry, who was coming off a big TKO win over Stockton legend Nate Diaz on the MVP MMA 1 card. Jenkins also competed on that event, defeating Diaz\u2019s close friend and training partner Chris Avila via split decision.<\/p>\n<p>Jenkins has said he\u2019s willing to give Perry a rematch at welterweight, but it appears his top choice would be a showdown with Diaz.
