The event also supports the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mississauga.ca\/apps\/#\/estore-purchase\/468fa54c-a230-414a-bdfc-6692143d06d5\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Animal Services Special Care for Animals and Resources Fund (SCARF)<\/a>. While the swim is free to attend, donations to SCARF help provide enhanced care for animals in the City\u2019s shelter, including medications, specialized veterinary treatment, foster support and shelter improvements.<\/p>\n<p>Since launching in 2019, the Dog Swim has become a popular end-of-summer tradition, bringing together dogs and their owners for a day of swimming, exercise and social time, all while supporting animals in need.<\/p>\n<p>To participate, dog owners must <a href=\"https:\/\/anc.ca.apm.activecommunities.com\/activemississauga\/activity\/search?onlineSiteId=0&amp;activity_select_param=2&amp;drop_in=0&amp;activity_keyword=dogs%20only&amp;viewMode=list\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">register online<\/a> and complete a mandatory waiver form and follow all <a href=\"https:\/\/www7.mississauga.ca\/departments\/rec\/aquatics\/docs\/DOG%20Swim%20Rules%202019.pdf\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Dog Swim Pool Rules<\/a>. Dogs must be vaccinated as outlined in the City\u2019s rules.<\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-168799\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/IMG_1112-scaled.jpg\" alt=\"A brown dog steps out of a pool during the Dog Swim event.\" width=\"2560\" height=\"1440\"  \/><\/p>\n<p>What<\/p>\n<p>The City of Mississauga\u2019s annual Dog Swim gives residents the chance to bring their dogs to enjoy the outdoor pools before they close for the season.<\/p>\n<p>Note: People are not permitted in the pool, but may watch their pets from the pool deck.<\/p>\n<p>When<\/p>\n<p>Saturday, September 12, 2026<\/p>\n<p>Where<\/p>\n<p>The Dog Swim will take place at three outdoor pools in Mississauga.<\/p>\n<p>Cost<\/p>\n<p>The Dog Swim is free to attend. Donations are encouraged in support of SCARF and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mississauga.ca\/services-and-programs\/animals-and-pets\/animal-services-shelter\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Animal Services Shelter<\/a>.
