The Winnipeg Public Library has named Manitoba artist Maureen Winnicki Lyons as its final Maker-in-Residence for 2026.<\/p>\n
Winnicki Lyons brings 25 years of experience in art and craft to the program.<\/p>\n
The Manitoba artist works with wool from different breeds of sheep, along with natural dyes and other fibre techniques.<\/p>\n

She has taught thousands of people through hundreds of classes across the province and will bring her knowledge of fibres and natural dyes to her residency.<\/p>\n
Her work blends a variety of fibre-craft and artistic techniques to create unique pieces.<\/p>\n
During her residency, Winnicki Lyons will offer drop-in studio times in the library’s ideaMILL and host workshops at library branches across Winnipeg.<\/p>\n
