It\u2019s the platform he envisioned when he started the company in 2022.<\/p>\n
\u201cI was a high school dropout who had spent 17 years of his life in the trades and I had no idea what I was getting myself into (with Construction Clock) or if it was actually going to work,\u201d Peters said.<\/p>\n
\u201cWith absolutely no experience building any sort of tech, I realized that I was way in over my head and that I had to solve a specific problem to start, and then I could expand from there. So, I started with time and attendance.\u201d<\/p>\n
Today, Supercrew serves more than 3,000 companies across 10,000 active job sites every day, tracking more than $1 billion in labour costs.<\/p>\n
The company has raised $3.2 million with participation from M25, an early stage venture firm in Chicago, and Trillick Ventures Inc., an early stage venture capital fund based in Winnipeg. Earlier this year, Supercrew secured an additional $470,000 in funding from Prairies Economic Development Canada that is designated for artificial intelligence development.<\/p>\n
Using Supercrew, contractors can plan who is needed and where, track what happens in the field, and move accurate labour information into payroll, all through one platform. The result is owners and managers get a clearer view of operations while reducing administrative work for field teams.<\/p>\n
Supercrew is rolling out a number of new features in the next 18 months, Peters said. A scheduling feature will launch before the end of the year, and the company will start testing a hiring function in Winnipeg in time for the spring construction season.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis is where we beta test everything,\u201d Peters said. \u201cWinnipeg\u2019s a perfect market for us. Because we\u2019re here, if anything goes wrong (for a customer), we can show up in person and manually walk them through.\u201d<\/p>\n
Supercrew employs 35 people. The company is scheduled to move into a brand new office in the McGillivray Business Park at the end of next month.<\/p>\n
Construction companies have been increasingly adopting new technologies in recent years, many of which are driven by artificial intelligence, said Darryl Harrison, president and CEO at the Winnipeg Construction Association.<\/p>\n

\u201cA lot of construction companies are smaller companies with two or three people, and often the person that\u2019s doing the work is also responsible for doing the invoicing and the bill payments,\u201d Harrison said. \u201cSo these types of (technological) advances are really helpful in that situation.\u201d<\/p>\n
Any platform that allows companies \u2014 especially those that don\u2019t have large administrative teams \u2014 to operate more efficiently is good for the construction industry, he added.<\/p>\n
Peters said he feels privileged to have made it through Supercrew\u2019s early stages, given he had no prior experience in tech. He likened the company\u2019s progress to climbing Mount Everest and arriving at base camp.<\/p>\n
\u201cNow we\u2019re suiting up again and we\u2019re gonna continue the journey, and we\u2019re doing that with this rebrand.\u201d<\/p>\n
