Note: New Jets colour analyst Landon Ferraro shared his excitement after his hiring became official, saying on X that he “couldn’t be more excited” for the opportunity to get to Winnipeg and call Jets games where he will be featured alongside play-by-play voice Dan Robertson.

Note II: The Jets confirmed that Altona’s Cole Kehler will serve as the club’s Emergency Backup Goalie (EBUG) this season. We reported the news last Thursday, although it may have been easy to miss amid Connor Hellebuyck’s trade-request statement.

Note III: Some pundits were speculating last night whether New Jersey’s acquisition of Luke Evangelista from Nashville could be a precursor to the Devils making another move, potentially one involving Jets goaltender Connor Hellebuyck. Time will tell whether there is any merit to those claims.

The Athletic Winnipeg: Which goaltenders could the Winnipeg Jets target to help replace Connor Hellebuyck? (Paywall). Murat looks at the free agent goalies still available and then goes through the ones who could be part of what Winnipeg receives back if they pull off a Connor Hellebuyck deal.

The Athletic: Ranking the NHL’s top 20 Calder Trophy candidates for the 2026-27 season. (Paywall). One of just three 18-year olds on the list is Jets prospect Viggo Björck who comes in at the 12th spot overall.

Daily Faceoff: Three trade destinations to watch for Jets’ Connor Hellebuyck. We’ve seen lists that include eight teams, some that include five clubs but this one limits itself to three and they are, in my opinion, the three most likely landing spots for Hellebuyck’s services. Of course I caution that oftentimes we think we can predict which move Kevin Cheveldayoff will make and then he goes off the board.

Sportsnet: Top 10 teams most likely to make the playoffs after missing last year. They see a bounce back from Winnipeg although that is predicated on Hellebuyck and the team staying healthy.

The Jeremy and Joe Show: What comes next for Connor Hellebuyck and the Winnipeg Jets? Jeremy White and Nate Geary were joined by Mike McIntyre, Winnipeg Jets beat reporter for the Winnipeg Free Press to continue the conversation around Connor Hellebuyck trade watch. The guys start by asking McIntrye how the statement from Hellebuyck has landed in Winnipeg, and he explains how it raised the temperature. They then discuss what the Jets other trade options could be, how likely it is he gets moved, and more.
