Formula 1 World Champion Lando Norris has launched his own single-seater racing team, and has enlisted several key players in the junior landscape in leadership positions.<\/p>\n

Norris, who recently extended his McLaren Formula 1 contract through 2030, has founded LN4 Fusion, which will compete in the FIA\u2019s single-seater pyramid.<\/p>\n

LN4 Fusion has acquired selected assets from AIX Racing, and will join Formula 3 in 2027, and has undertaken the relevant application procedures to join the Formula 2 championship.<\/p>\n

LN4 Fusion has recruited ex-Prema chief Rene Rosin to become Team Principal while Rosin\u2019s former Prema colleague Guillaume Capietto will become Head of Racing.<\/p>\n

The team will also have UK operations fronted by Dan Hazlewood, with an extensive testing program and entry into British Formula 4.<\/p>\n

Concurrently, Norris has also created the LN Legacy Programme\u2014funded by Norris\u2014which will help young drivers attempting to climb the motorsport ladder.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve been really lucky to have some amazing people around me throughout my career, and I know that getting to Formula 1 takes so much more than just talent,\u201d Norris said.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou need the right people around you, the right support and the right opportunities at the right time.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat\u2019s what these two projects are all about. LN4 Fusion is about building a race team that can compete with the best in junior motorsport, with great people and a great environment for drivers to develop.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe LN4 Legacy Programme is about helping talented young drivers get opportunities they might not otherwise have.<\/p>\n

\u201cFor me, they naturally fit together. I want to help create opportunities for the next generation, both on and off the track, and hopefully make a real difference to young drivers coming through the sport.\u201d<\/p>\n

U.K.-based Phillip Horton started covering Grands Prix while still at university and swiftly deemed that writing about Formula 1 and the behind-the-scenes machinations was much more engaging than reading centuries-old novels. Degree gained, he went on to cover the sport full-time from 2014 and is as intrigued and excited by the destinations Formula 1 visits during its lengthy annual world tour as the racing itself.
