Michlifen Resort & Golf will host the fifth edition of the Michlifen Atlas Pro-Am from 17 to 21 September, bringing professional and amateur golfers to Ifrane in Morocco’s Middle Atlas for five days built around the resort’s Jack Nicklaus Signature Course.

Now in its fifth year, the event has become a fixture on the region’s Pro-Am calendar, pairing competitive golf with the kind of hospitality programme that’s made Ifrane an increasingly serious mention alongside Morocco’s more established golf destinations, Marrakech and Rabat chief among them. The Michlifen course sits inside a forested, mountainous setting that’s unusual for the country’s golf offering – cedar forest rather than desert or coastline – and that contrast is central to why the event draws attention beyond the leaderboard.

Format and field
The competition runs as a 4 Ball / 2 Best Ball Stableford event over two rounds, 36 holes in total, with the field capped at 22 teams. That cap is deliberate: organisers are positioning the Pro-Am as an exclusive fixture rather than a high-volume amateur event, with prize money on offer for professional competitors and separate Gross and Net team rankings.

Five days, not two rounds
Where the Michlifen Atlas Pro-Am differentiates itself is in how much sits either side of the golf:
17 September – Arrivals, registration and a welcome dinner, with teams formally introduced at an official presentation.
18 September – Practice rounds and course reconnaissance, plus a Longest Drive contest run on TrackMan. The day closes with a barbecue on the Club House terrace.
19 September – Round one, run alongside a putting contest, followed by an evening built around Moroccan hospitality and gastronomy.
20 September – Round two and the close of competition, followed by the awards ceremony at the resort’s Royal Theatre.
21 September – Departures.

It’s a structure that treats the golf as the spine of the week rather than the whole of it – closer in shape to the destination Pro-Ams that have become common in the Gulf’s own golf and lifestyle calendar than to a standard club tournament.

Why Ifrane
Michlifen’s positioning here is explicit: this is as much about establishing Ifrane and the Middle Atlas as a golf and luxury tourism destination as it is about running a competition. For a Gulf audience weighing golf trips beyond the usual Iberian and Turkish circuits, a five-day Moroccan package anchored by a Nicklaus design and finished with resort-level hospitality is a specific enough proposition to warrant a look – particularly for groups organising their own Pro-Am-style trips.
