Parnasse is a long-time former KSW champion who made a big splash with his one and done appearance at MVP MMA. The reason he was done there was because UFC wanted to poach him out of that fledgling promotion before he drew too many serious mixed martial arts (MMA) fans over to it. Hooker comes into this one off two losses and looking very much like a sacrificial lamb. However, as last week taught us, -600 odds can be overcome.

The co-main is an all French affair, in the Featherweight division, with Fares Ziam meeting Axel Sola. Both of these guys are action fighters known for putting on a show. They should get the crowd roaring in Paris, even if it’s not obvious to the locals whom they should be cheering for.

<a href="https://sbnation.com/users/E9KZzS1eFU/Tim%20Edwards" vs. Trevor Peek and Losene Keita vs. Muhammad Naimov. Page might be trying to fight out of his UFC contract here, which is the reason UFC has pared him with a big, rangy striker who can also make you quit on the ground.

The featured “Prelim” is Morgan Charriere vs. Felipe Lima. The undercard also boasts Mario Pinto vs. Ryan Spann, Oumar Sy vs. Modestas Bukauskas and Nathaniel Wood against late replacement Pavel Andrusca. Further down the card we have Michael Aljarouj vs. Fabia Sintes, Nora Cornolle vs. Klaudia Sygula, Matthieu Duclos vs. Lucas Felipe Dias and Delphine Benouaich vs. Sofia Montenegro to make up the numbers. Aljarouj does look like an intriguing prospect, though.

UFC Paris Start Date and Time

We are operating at prime local time today. Parnasse throws upstairs, but Hooker blocks it. Lots of feints from both men. Parnasse gets close and throws a combo. The pace is really high here. Hooker is being busy, too, throwing out his jab. Parnasse lands a big body kick and that almost folds Hooker. Hooker straightens up and then gets clipped with a head kick. He sags back to the fence and then Parnasse puts him down with a punch. Parnasse delivers on the hype!

Official decision: Salahdine Parnasse def. Then Sola steps in and lays in a massive left overhand that sends Ziam to the shadow realm! Sola looks almost apologetic. Ziam is down for a while.

Official decision: Axel Sola def. Page attempts a buggy choke off his back. He can’t get it, though. He lets it go and Ruziboev gets side control, but chooses full guard instead. Ruziboev lands a few elbows, but Page is preventing him from posturing up and landing more. Page manages to get to his feet, but Ruziboev still has him clinched up on the fence. Page uses a foot sweep to finally get out and find some space.

Round 2: Page chases Ruziboev and misses on an overhand. He then forces a clinch. He breaks away, though. Page jumps in and lands a hard teep that buckles Ruziboev. Ruziboev tries to run Page down, but slips. Page has a big smile on his face. Ruziboev is looking a little confused about how to proceed now. He lunges in, but Page ducks under and clinches. They separate. Page goes for the teep again, Ruziboev blocks and catches his foot. He tries to turn that into a takedown, but Page stays up and gets away. Page lands an upward elbow and gives another big smile.

Round 3: Ruziboev catches a kick and this time manages to convert that to takedown, against the fence. Page quickly gets to a knee and then stands. Page reverses the clinch. And then there’s a break for a knee to Page’s groin. There’s a brief pause and they restart, separated. They bounce and stare at each other for a good minute. Page steps in and tries to land a punch. It misses. But Ruziboev is frozen. He doesn’t want to throw. Page tags him with a right. Ruziboev goes, misses, and they clinch for the last few seconds.

Official decision: Michael Page def. He sits back, waiting for Soriano to come to him. Soriano throws a jab to hide a takedown. He gets a single leg, but Donchenko hops out of trouble, GSP style. Donchenko lands a combo of short punches that drops Soriano! Donchenko tries to land ground and pound, Soriano grabs onto the leg. That stops the onslaught. Soriano makes it to his feet, but he is wobbly. Donchenko steps in and cracks him with a right hook. Donchenko lands more shots, but is being very patient — maybe too patient. Soriano is still looking foggy.

Round 2: Donchenko continues his slower approach in the start of the second round. Soriano still looks a little effected by that first round beating, but he’s starting to warm up. They trade in the pocket and Donchenko lands a kick to the cup. We break. Soriano only takes 35 seconds to rest, though. Soriano looks pretty refreshed now, though. He and Donchenko brawl, but both men are blocking most of the shots. Donchenko lands some nice jabs. Donchenko lands a combo and uses great head movement to avoid the responses. Soriano does get a flash takedown, though.

Round 3: Donchenko lands a punch through the guard. Then comes in and throws about ten punches, which Soriano largely blocks. Soriano goes for an awkward single leg. Donchenko tries hopping out of trouble again, but Soriano gets him down and goes for a Sulaev stretch! Donchenko tries to defend with elbows, but this is not somewhere he wants to be for long. Soriano lets go of one of the legs and tries to scramble to a better position. Donchenko hols onto an arm and they are stuck in a stalemate. They make it to their feet, with Soriano trying to get another takedown. Donchenko lands some hard elbows. Soriano completes the takedown anyway. Donchenko gets up and Soriano works for another takedown, while throwing some knees. Soriano lifts Donchenko and carries him to his corner. He dumps him down, but not very hard.

Official decision: Daniil Donchenko def. Punahele Soriano by unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 29-28)

Kurtis Campbell vs. Trevor Peek

Round 1: Peek takes the center. Campbell throws kicks to try and make him back off. Campbell flashes a headkick and Peek activates. He comes forwards throwing punches. Campbell is able to back away and avoid those. Campbell lands a hard kick to the body. He sees Peek flinch after that. He throws a front kick to the body. They clinch. Campbell lands some knees to the body and then goes for a takedown. He gets it, but Peek stands right up. Campbell hangs on his back, though. Peek goes for a leg and uses that to get up. Campbell gets another body lock and takes Peek down again, though. He finally gets Peek down away from the fence. He gets full mount, easily and lands a 12-6 elbow. He lands more strikes. Peek is in trouble. Campbell lands more elbows to cut up Peek.

Round 2: Campbell gets his body lock and that means Peek is going down again. Campbell tries to get on his back. Peek rolls, but it’s a slow roll. Campbell easily rides it and gets on the back again. Peek is very active with his defense, though, so Campbell isn’t able to easily find the finish. Campbell gets a body triangle and focuses on a choke. Peek manages to make it through another round.

Round 3: Peek sprawls to stop the first takedown. Campbell then lands a head kick to no effect. Campbell blocks another takedown. But he can’t stop the third one. We’re back on the fence with Peek fighting off the body lock. After a few minutes Campbell gets the back, his body triangle and finally gets his choke and the tapout. Looks like he insulted/taunted Peek after the tap. That’s not cool.

Official decision: Kurtis Campbell def. Trevor Peek by submission (rear naked choke), round 3 (3:07)

Losene Keita vs. Muhammad Naimov

Round 1: Keita rips a left hook that stuns Naimov in the first exchange. That opens a but around Naimov’s right eye. Naimov is pumping his jab, but Keita is throwing heat over the top. The blood is running into Naimov’s eye and causing some issues. Keita connects with one of those overhands and Naimov goes down. Keita gets on top and starts hammering away. Naimov gets to his feet and lands a nice left hook. Keita then lands a huge one-two and Naimov collapses. He is out cold!

Official decision: Losene Keita def. Muhammad Naimov by KO (right hook), round 1 (2:54)

Morgan Charriere vs. Felipe Lima: Lima put on a clinic here. He beat Charriere up for three straight rounds showing off some great striking along the way. Charriere, who is 30 but much older in fight years, started to show his age in this one. Lima, who was debuting at Featherweight, looks a real prospect at this weight.

Official decision: Felipe Lima def. But Pinto was able to recover and land some haymakers of his own. Pinto then settled down a little and got some takedowns. On the ground he was merciless with well placed ground and pound. Spann was exhausted and demoralized at the end of the second round. Pinto burst out the corner for the second round and battered Spann to get him back down and finish him with ground strikes.

Official decision: Mario Pinto def. Sy dominated Bukauskas in the first round, pinning him down and coming close to a ground and pound finish. Bukauskas got up, though, at the urging of the referee and was able to survive. Turns out all that domination tired out Sy. In the second Bukauskas was able to get up quickly from a Sy takedown and then he turned up the pace, putting a beating on Sy on the feet. The tired Sy crumbled and Bakauskas was able to come away with a real gutsy win over Sy (whose time as a top prospect seems to be over).

Official decision: Modestas Bukauskas def. Oumar Sy by TKO (punches), round 2 (3:57)

Nathaniel Wood vs. Pavel Andrusca: Wood looked good early on, stinging Andrusca with his striking. At that point Andrusca, a late replacement making his debut looked a little out of his depth. That might have just been Octagon jitters, though. As the fight went on he looked more comfortable and his wrestling started to give Wood a lot of problems. Andrusca was able to take Wood down and threaten with a submission in the second and then start beating him to the punch in the third. I scored it 29-28 for the newcomer.

Official decision: Pavel Andrusca def. After a close opening round spent mainly on the feet, Sintes was able to suck up lots of control time in the second and third. Alarouj mounted a comeback in the third, but was unable to do any serious damage. I scored the fight for Sintes, to break France’s winning streak.

Official decision: Fabia Sintes def. Cornolle, the bigger body, was able to establish the clinch often in this fight and prevent Sygula from gaining an advantage through her better speed and volume striking. It wasn’t pretty, but Cornolle did a good job of bullying Sygula around and getting a convincing decision.

Official decision: Nora Cornolle def. Dias might have been winning this one, landing plenty on Duclos as he blitzed forwards. He was very wild, though. Eventually he ran into a check hook and was briefly knocked out. He seemed to wake up when he hit the ground and was defending himself as the referee came in to break it up.

Official decision: Matthieu Duclos def. Benouaich and Montenegro throw down from the opening bell. Benouiach landed the cleaner shots early, but Montenegro’s offense seemed to be wearing on her more. In the second, though, she landed a hard straight punch right to the jaw. That put down Montengro and Benouiach then split her open with brutal elbows. With Montenegro bleeding all over the place, Benouiach then took the back and choked her to sleep. Keep an eye on this girl!

Official decision: Delphine Benouiach def.
