{"id":884884,"date":"2026-09-06T00:02:19","date_gmt":"2026-09-06T00:02:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/884884\/"},"modified":"2026-09-06T00:02:19","modified_gmt":"2026-09-06T00:02:19","slug":"teen-charged-after-losing-control-of-vehicle-that-struck-and-killed-a-pedestrian","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/884884\/","title":{"rendered":"Teen charged after losing control of vehicle that struck and killed a pedestrian"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A teenager has been arrested in connection with a fatal crash that happened in midtown Toronto late Friday afternoon.<\/p>\n<p>According to police, an 18-year-old male was driving a white Nissan Pathfinder vehicle northbound on Bathurst Street.<\/p>\n<p>Detectives say he lost control of the vehicle, mounted the curb and struck a 37-year-old woman who was walking on the east sidewalk going southbound, near Lonsmount Drive.<\/p>\n<p>The woman was transported to a hospital in life-threatening condition and was pronounced dead on Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>Police have identified the driver as Jacob Sanchez of Toronto.
