Residents have been evacuated from a Brampton street following an active gas leak Sunday afternoon.<\/p>\n

Peel Regional Police reported a \u201cdangerous condition\u201d in the area of Seaborn Road and Bingham Road in Brampton.<\/p>\n

Police said the gas leak was located at the rear of a residential unit and all residential units on the street were evacuated as a precaution.<\/p>\n

No injuries have been reported.<\/p>\n

Brampton Fire and Emergency Services and Enbridge Gas crews were called to the scene and were working to deal with the leak.<\/p>\n

Police reported the incident at approximately 4:48 p.m. on Sunday (Sept. 6) and asked people to avoid the area while emergency crews were working.<\/p>\n

In an update, police said no transit routes were affected by the incident.<\/p>\n

The gas leak was expected to take approximately two to three hours to repair.<\/p>\n

The cause of the leak has not been officially confirmed.<\/p>\n

Emergency crews remained on scene Sunday evening as work continued to repair the leak and make the area safe.<\/p>\n

Residents and motorists are being asked to avoid the Seaborn Road and Bingham Road area while crews continue their work.<\/p>\n
