{"id":886502,"date":"2026-09-07T08:22:49","date_gmt":"2026-09-07T08:22:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/886502\/"},"modified":"2026-09-07T08:22:49","modified_gmt":"2026-09-07T08:22:49","slug":"2-arrested-nearly-year-after-brampton-shooting-that-left-man-injured","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/886502\/","title":{"rendered":"2 arrested nearly year after Brampton shooting that left man injured"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Peel Regional Police (PRP) have arrested and charged two males in connection <a href=\"https:\/\/toronto.citynews.ca\/video\/2025\/10\/20\/shooting-outside-brampton-home-sends-a-man-to-hospital-and-leaves-a-neighbourhood-on-edge\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">with a 2025 shooting in a Brampton neighbourhood<\/a>, nearly a year after an adult man was found suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/toronto.citynews.ca\/2025\/11\/12\/high-risk-takedown-8-clifton-court\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">The shooting happened on Oct. 19, 2025, around 10:40 p.m.<\/a>, when officers were called to the area of Dawnridge Trail and Clifton Court for reports of gunfire. Police arrived to find an adult male with multiple gunshot wounds. He was rushed to hospital with non\u2011life\u2011threatening injuries.<\/p>\n<p>Investigators continued working the case for months, ultimately making two arrests in August 2026.<\/p>\n<p>Police say Lavontae Bowleg, a 19\u2011year\u2011old from Sudbury, and a male from Oshawa who was 17 at the time of the offence, have each been charged with a slate of serious firearm\u2011related offences, including aggravated assault, attempted murder using firearm, carrying a concealed weapon and conspiracy to commit murder, among other charges.<\/p>\n<p>Both accused remain in custody pending a bail hearing.
