This performance is supported by strong quality of contact metrics in addition to an overwhelmingly aggressive approach.

Vargas’ eventual return to Hi-A will be telling for his future in the Marlins system.

Nick McLain

                    OF, Age: 23,
B/T: S/L,
5′ 10″/190 lbs

                    DOB: 2002-12-16,
Irvine, USA

                    Drafted: 2024, Rd. 3, Pick: 4

                    School: Arizona State

                2026 Season Stats
Levels: A, A+, ROK

                            GP
PA
tjBat+
OPS
ISO
HR
SB
K%
BB%
Whiff%
Swing%
Air%

                            66
281
125
0.839
0.156
6
4
20.6%
18.1%
25.2%
41.3%
59.1%

Last 14 Days: .406/.487/.844/1.331 (13-for-32), 39 PA, 8 XBH, 3 HR, 6 BB, 10 SO, 0 SB

Nick McLain graduated from honourable mention in last week’s issue of the Prospect Parade to a prime feature after another strong showing in Hi-A. His power continues to shine through as his 110.1 mph EV90 ranks near the top of MiLB. At the moment, his most glaring flaw is his inability to consistently lift and pull the ball. Thankfully, he makes enough solid contact that his suboptimal spray tendencies have yielded strong results.

Plaz is Rule 5 Eligible this December and the Pirates will certainly protect him. His ability to kill spin aids in the pitch’s late-breaking and diving nature.

Lan-Hong Su is a ways away from the Majors, yet he is one of the few arms in the Padres system that has the traits to project him a potential MLB starter.

Jacob Odle

Age: 22,
RHP,
6′ 5″/210 lbs

DOB: 2003-11-30,
San Diego, USA

Drafted: 2023, Rd. 14, Pick: 21

School: Orange Coast College

2026 Season Stats

Levels: A, A+

GP
IP
ERA
WHIP
K%
BB%
K-BB%
Whiff%
Strike%
GB%

24
96.0
3.19
1.39
34.1%
15.5%
18.6%
35.7%
60.7%
44.0%

Last 14 Days: 1-0, 1.93 ERA, 9.1 IP, 3 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 8 BB, 19 SO, 1 HR

Jacob Odle deserves his flowers. I really hope he can do that because the breaking balls are special.

Sadbiel Delzine

Age: 18,
RHP,
6′ 5″/198 lbs

DOB: 2008-01-09,
San Felix, Venezuela

2026 Season Stats

Levels: A, ROK

GP
IP
ERA
WHIP
K%
BB%
K-BB%
Whiff%
Strike%
GB%

18
64.2
2.64
1.07
29.6%
9.0%
20.6%
29.8%
64.9%
41.9%

Last 14 Days: 0-0, 2.57 ERA, 7.0 IP, 7 H, 3 R, 2 ER, 0 BB, 13 SO, 1 HR

Sadbiel Delzine popped up onto many radars after he was touching the upper 90s in the complex league this season. While his results in short season ball were solid, he has found a new gear following his promotion to Lo-A. Across 7 starts at the level, the 18-year-old righty has posted a 2.52 ERA supported by an incredible 28.5 K-BB% and stellar 67.6 Strike%. He wields a 5-pitch mix consisting of a mid-90s fastball, a sharp dropping changeup and a trio of breaking balls. His secondaries are his most effective offerings at the moment and play well off his higher release point.

The Red Sox have readily churned out quality pitching prospects in recent years and Delzine looks like another arm that could take MiLB by storm next season. Thankfully, King has an electric fastball-curveball combo which gives him a stable foundation to build upon and his changeup has started to come into its own this season. He feels like a prime candidate to get in some extra reps in the AFL in the autumn.

Mason Molina

Age: 23,
LHP,
6′ 2″/230 lbs

DOB: 2003-07-08,
Irvine, USA

Drafted: 2024, Rd. 7, Pick: 20

School: Arkansas

2026 Season Stats

Levels: AA, AAA

GP
IP
ERA
WHIP
K%
BB%
K-BB%
Whiff%
Strike%
GB%

25
113.0
3.82
1.29
28.7%
10.3%
18.5%
32.2%
62.9%
34.3%

Last 14 Days: 2-0, 0.00 ERA, 15.0 IP, 11 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 3 BB, 23 SO, 0 HR

Mason Molina was a steady producer in AA into the middle of season, which earned him a promotion to AAA just before the start of the 2nd half. While his time at the level has been bumpy, he found some consistency in his last two starts as he struck out 14 batters across 9.0 scoreless innings. The Cardinals southpaw wields a peculiar changeup with a high degree of spin. This unconventional trait causes the offering to experience significant arm-side run, further diverging the pitch from his fastball. It is by far his most effective offering and his most used secondary.

Molina has the tools to be a backend starter for the Cardinals as soon as next season.

Honourable Mentions

Sann Omosako – TOR

Last 14 Days: 0-1, 1.00 ERA, 9.0 IP, 3 H, 2 R, 1 ER, 0 BB, 9 SO, 1 HR

Juan Reyes – WSH

Last 14 Days: 2-0, 0.68 ERA, 13.1 IP, 5 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 1 BB, 15 SO, 1 HR

Tyler Boudreau – NYY

Last 14 Days: 1-0, 1.13 ERA, 8.0 IP, 2 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 3 BB, 8 SO, 1 HR

Tyler Schlaffer – CHC

Last 14 Days: 0-0, 0.00 ERA, 11.0 IP, 5 H, 2 R, 0 ER, 3 BB, 13 SO, 0 HR

Kelvis Salcedo – DET

Last 14 Days: 0-0, 1.00 ERA, 9.0 IP, 8 H, 3 R, 1 ER, 2 BB, 16 SO, 0 HR

Check out last week’s Prospect Parade for more of the hottest prospects in the minors, and my updated Top 100 Prospects list.
