While Queen Elizabeth had ladies-in-waiting, Camilla opted to have her closest friends, as well as her sister, Annabel Elliot, take on more modern roles of what she calls \u201ccompanions\u201d \u2014 who support her in her royal duties.<\/p>\n

Harrold noted that if Kate follows in Camilla\u2019s footsteps and goes the companion route, Pippa would be a shoo-in.<\/p>\n
He pointed out how the entire Middleton family \u2014 Kate and Pippa\u2019s younger brother, James Middleton, and their parents Michael Middleton and Carole Middleton \u2014 \u201cmanage to stay out of the limelight\u201d \u2014 which is no small feat \u2014 and that they provide Kate with support from behind the scenes because \u201cthey respect the [Royal] family and traditions enough to be strictly private.\u201d<\/p>\n
Pippa, in particular, would make the ideal support system for her big sister, Harrold added.<\/p>\n
\u201cPippa does her own thing,\u201d the former butler explained. \u201cShe keeps herself very low-key, and I think she does a really good job of it.\u201d<\/p>\n
The Middletons bring the normal<\/p>\n
And it\u2019s not just Kate who benefits from her family\u2019s assistance and encouragement.<\/p>\n
Harrold shared that the Middletons also give her husband a place where he can relax and be himself.<\/p>\n
\u201cPippa and the wider Middleton family are really good for William, as they\u2019ve offered this whole other side of family life,\u201d Harrold revealed.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe know he is the future monarch, but he gets a wonderful normal lifestyle when he\u2019s with Kate\u2019s family.\u201d<\/p>\n
