We all enjoy the show; it’s the beauty of shooting on location … it’s fun for the crew too.”

In season four, a deepening of the show’s storyline and Sohal’s connection with the community continues, Mendes shared, noting how Wraich’s character has grown and changed over the first three seasons, going from rookie to detective as she battles crime and corruption — even within the fictitious Canadian Federal Police Corps.

The series won the 2026 Leo Award for Best Dramatic Series, with Wraich also winning the 2025 Best Lead Performer, Drama, at the Canadian Screen Awards for her work on the show.

Wraich, who came to Canada as a young girl and grew up in Ontario, enjoys spending the summer months in British Columbia, swimming in the ocean whenever she can, and enjoying the area’s vibrant and diverse food scene, shared photos of her son who is, quite possibly, the most adorable three-year-old ever.

She acknowledged that, as her character on the show grows and develops, so does she, as an actress.

“It’s been kind of nice to grow with this character … I try to look for the parallels in my own life versus with what I’m playing, and how can I put some semblance of truth with what’s happening with me into that character,” she explained, while filming in Surrey Sept. 2.

Cast, crew and background performers move about the indoor/outdoor set speedily, professionally, and quietly, while equipment is set up and taken down, lightning-quick, between shots. Scenes are shot several times with several takes; from one point of view, then another, then close-ups, with the actors repeating the same lines each time.

She and her on-screen persona share many parallels, Wraich continued.

“In season one, Sabrina was brand-new to the CFPC, so we kind of walked in parallel in terms of our understanding of what the job was and where the landmines were. As Sabrina’s confidence has grown over the seasons, so has mine, in terms of … it’s a big team to lead, to understand the responsibility of it — where people kind of look to you to set a bit of the tone. We try to be really positive here, which isn’t what Sabrina always can say to the CFPC,” she quipped with a smile.

She also spoke of navigating the show personally as well.

“It’s also been a personal journey, especially in a very sort of male-centric world of, you know, figuring out what a woman of colour’s power looks like. And it’s a strange position for her to be in, you know? Even for me, sometimes, I think like as a woman of colour, as an actor before George Floyd before Black Lives Matter … I wasn’t working as much as I’m working now. My talent hasn’t changed. So being able to look at those bigger issues that are happening in the world from a really honest perspective and navigating that through this character has been really fascinating.”

Portraying a strong Sikh Punjabi woman has been an exceptional experience so far, she shared, her voice thickening with emotion.

“I just think how cool it is to be making this show for this community. I think how empowering it is … I hear from a lot of parents how meaningful it is to have somebody like Sabrina on their screens, for their kids to watch. (Someone) who belongs here. And also that so many of our stories aren’t centred around the fact that Sabrina is Sikh/Punjabi/South Asian, but she’s just a woman in the world doing her job. It’s really lovely to hear from (people) who are just so proud.”

Surrey-based Allegiance films S4 in Surrey, White Rock Published 3:00 pm Tuesday, September 8, 2026 By Tricia Leslie/Peace…

[194299
49,48,87674
post-888576","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-surrey","tag-ca","tag-canada","tag-surrey
["GET
