The Ferris Me<\/a> is consultation-first and education-focused. \u201cAs a Registered Nurse, I want patients to understand their options, what a treatment can realistically accomplish, and when a treatment may not be necessary,\u201d she said.<\/p>\nJoanna continued, \u201cThe experience at The Ferris Me is intentionally very personal. It is a smaller, nurse-led clinic, so appointments are not meant to feel rushed or transactional. I spend a lot of time talking with clients about what they are noticing, what they want to improve, their medical history, their lifestyle and what is realistic for them. From there, we build a plan together.\u201d<\/p>\n
The plan could be one treatment, or a longer-term approach involving skincare, laser, injectables, facials, PRP or wellness services. Sometimes the plan starts with education and doing absolutely nothing else at that time.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhile I see women and men of different ages, many of my clients are women between about 45 and 65,\u201d explained Joanna. \u201cThey have spent years raising families, building careers and taking care of everyone around them, and they are finally at a stage where they are allowing themselves to invest some time in their own health and well-being. Most aren\u2019t trying to become someone different or look 20 years younger. They want to feel healthy, refreshed and like themselves.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cI want the clinic to feel approachable,\u201d Joanna added. \u201cMedical aesthetics can sometimes feel intimidating, especially for someone who has never had a treatment before. I try to make it feel much more like coming in to talk to a nurse who happens to have access to some really interesting technology and treatment options. I want people to feel comfortable asking questions, and I want them to understand what we are doing, why we are doing it and what their options are.\u201d<\/p>\n
Clinic treatments offered include Dysport and injectable treatments, dermal fillers, advanced laser treatments, microneedling, PRP, medical-grade facials and IV wellness services, among others.<\/p>\n
\u201cI look at every client as a whole person rather than looking at one concern in isolation. If someone comes in saying they look tired, for example, I am not immediately thinking about one particular treatment. I am looking at skin quality, volume, muscle movement, pigmentation, lifestyle, overall health and what is actually contributing to what they are seeing,\u201d said Joanna.<\/p>\n
She explained, \u201cBecause I work with a number of different modalities, I am able to approach concerns from different angles. That might include medical-grade skincare, laser, facials, injectables, PRP, wellness treatments or sometimes simply education and a plan for the future. I am not trying to make one treatment fit every person.\u201d<\/p>\n
Joanna continued, \u201cI opened the clinic in Lively because I wanted to build something within the community rather than feeling that people always had to travel elsewhere to access advanced treatments and technology. As an Indigenous-owned, nurse-led business, it is also very important to me that the clinic continues to grow in a way that is connected to the community and grounded in responsible healthcare.\u201d<\/p>\n
She finished, \u201cWhat has meant the most to me so far is seeing clients come back, refer their friends and family, or tell me that something we did genuinely made a difference in how they feel. That is really what I hope The Ferris Me becomes known for: a place where people can come in, ask questions, learn about their options and receive care that feels personal rather than procedural.\u201d<\/p>\n
