A Canadian dessert chain has closed in Mississauga.<\/p>\n
BeaverTails and Shelly\u2019s Chill at 213 Queen St. S. in Streetsville are marked as permanently closed on Google Maps, and customers reported the closure on social media.<\/p>\n
The BeaverTails location is no longer listed on the company website.<\/p>\n
Attempts to contact Shelly\u2019s Chill was unsuccessful.<\/p>\n
BeaverTails are flat donuts topped with sweets such as chocolate hazelnut spread, maple spread, peanut butter, bananas, cheesecake spread, brownie pieces, crushed Oreo cookies or Reese\u2019s Pieces. BeaverTails locations also have fries, poutine, hot dogs wrapped in a pastry, ice cream, lemonade and smoothies.<\/p>\n
The chain started as a wooden booth in the heart of Ottawa\u2019s historic ByWard Market in 1980. It has since grown to about 50 shops in tourist towns and resort villages and over 150 mobile shops, according to the website.<\/p>\n
The Streetsville location opened<\/a> in 2022, and Shelly\u2019s Chill operated in the same space.<\/p>\n Shelly\u2019s Chill served chicken sandwiches, bowls, shakes and fries.<\/p>\n Before BeaverTails, the location was home to Butter Chicken Roti from 2019 until it closed down<\/a> in April 2022 amid allegations of failed rent payments.
