Staying safe on e-scooters and e-bikes<\/p>\n
With more ways to get around Brampton, road safety includes knowing how to share the road and safely operate e-bikes and e-scooters. As set out by the Ontario government, E-scooter riders must be 16 years of age or older and must obey the following rules:<\/p>\n
\u2022 Wear a helmet, which is mandatory for riders under 18.<\/p>\n
\u2022 Obey traffic laws, signals and signs.<\/p>\n
\u2022 Travel at a safe speed of 24 km\/h or less.<\/p>\n
\u2022 Only regulated kick-style e-scooters and e-bikes are permitted in Brampton.<\/p>\n
\u2022 Ride on roads with speed limits of 50 km\/h or less, bike lanes or multi-use paths.<\/p>\n
\u2022 Stay alert and avoid distractions.<\/p>\n
\u2022 Ride alone, with no passengers or cargo.<\/p>\n
\u2022 Never ride on sidewalks.<\/p>\n
