Susan Moss wasn\u2019t simply a concert photographer\u2014she was one of the people who helped define how Montreal\u2019s music scene, and the city itself, looked.<\/p>\n

For decades, camera in hand, Moss captured the artists, festivals, clubs, crowds and wonderfully chaotic moments that made the city\u2019s music culture<\/a> so distinctive. From international superstars<\/a> like Prince and Dave Grohl<\/a> to Montreal\u2019s local musicians<\/a> and emerging talent, her photographs turned fleeting moments into a visual record of the city.\u00a0<\/p>\n

According to a report by the CBC, Moss began photographing Montreal\u2019s alternative music scene after working at Bar Bifteck before becoming a house photographer for Evenko.<\/p>\n

Over the years, she photographed everyone from Prince to Foo Fighters, while also championing the local artists and venues<\/a> that made Montreal home.<\/p>\n

Moss died on September 4 at 58, leaving behind an extraordinary archive of Montreal at its loudest, sweatiest and most electric.<\/p>\n
