The Vancouver film and TV industry<\/a> is continuing its busy year, and local horror fans won\u2019t have to wait long to see the city on the screen as a local high school serves as the backdrop for Prime Video\u2019s Carrie TV series.<\/p>\n

Eric Hamber Secondary School features prominently in the official trailer released on Wednesday, Sept. 9.<\/p>\n

This most recent adaptation of Carrie, the 1974 novel written by acclaimed horror writer Stephen King, has Mike Flanagan at the helm. He has experience bringing King\u2019s stories to the screen, as he was the director and writer of the sequel to The Shining, 2019\u2019s Doctor Sleep.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Eric Hamber was transformed into Ewen High School during the filming, which took place in Metro Vancouver from June to October 2026.<\/p>\n

Summer H. Howell stars as the titular Carrie, a high school student who is relentlessly bullied.<\/p>\n

In the novel as well as the fan-favourite 1976 film of the same name, Carrie discovers the ability to control objects from a distance and eventually uses this power to take revenge against those who mocked her.<\/p>\n

Various locations inside Eric Hamber can be seen in the trailer, including classrooms, a changeroom, and a gymnasium.<\/p>\n

Viewers get a taste of the traumatic incidents that begin to push Carrie over the edge, and yes, true to the source material, there are some bloody scenes in the trailer.<\/p>\n

A fiery scene that was filmed in Cloverdale last year also made the cut<\/a> for the new promo.<\/p>\n

Parts of the historic neighbourhood and designated town centre were transformed for the multi-day shoot, with several storefronts altered and streets closed.<\/p>\n

The highlight of the filming was an action-packed set piece where a number of cars appear to be set ablaze.<\/p>\n

According to Paul Orazietti, executive director of the Cloverdale BIA,\u00a0filming is a vital part of the community\u2019s economy<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Heather Graham was also in Vancouver filming for<\/a> Carrie,\u00a0and she enjoyed various parts of the city quite a bit and highlighted something she\u2019s obsessed with for her fans.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe shot the\u00a0Carrie\u00a0TV series in Vancouver. Have you been? I think it\u2019s one of the most beautiful cities,\u201d\u00a0Graham\u2019s post\u00a0stated.\u00a0<\/p>\n

There was something in particular, though, that Graham felt extra passionate about.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m obsessed with the bike path in Stanley Park,\u201d she wrote in her post.<\/p>\n

Graham took several photos in and around Stanley Park. Graham also noted in her IG post that she was reunited with the roller skates she wore in Boogie Nights,\u00a0which would\u2019ve paired perfectly with the seawall.\u00a0<\/p>\n

In reference to Vancouver, she also said the \u201cfood there is good,\u201d and another picture in her post shows that she had hit up the iconic Vij\u2019s.<\/p>\n

Graham\u2019s post received almost 80,000 likes and tons of comments from her fans, including one who said, \u201cVancouver looks good on you.\u201d<\/p>\n
