Apple has increased Canadian prices for the iPhone 17, iPhone Air and iPhone 17e, with buyers now paying between $100 and $450 more depending on the model and storage.

The iPhone 17 now starts at $1,299 CAD, while the iPhone Air starts at $1,599 CAD and the iPhone 17e starts at $999 CAD. The largest increase affects the 1TB iPhone Air, which has jumped nearly 22% to $2,499 CAD.

Here’s how the new prices compare with the previous Canadian pricing. All amounts are in Canadian dollars, before taxes.

iPhone 16

128GB: $1,149 (up $150 or 15%)

iPhone 17

256GB: $1,299 CAD, up $170 (15%) from $1,129

512GB: $1,599 CAD, up $170 (12%) from $1,429

iPhone Air

256GB: $1,599 CAD, up $150 (10%) from $1,449

512GB: $1,899 CAD, up $150 (10%) from $1,749

1TB: $2,499 CAD, up $450 (22%) from $2,049

iPhone 17e

256GB: $999 CAD, up $100 (11%) from $899

512GB: $1,299 CAD, up $100 (8%) from $1,199

The new prices are listed on Apple’s Canadian online store and were updated after today’s iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone Duo unveil.

For the iPhone 17, the $170 increase wipes out the $150 storage-for-storage savings it offered over the iPhone 16 at launch. Both configurations now cost $20 more than the equivalent iPhone 16 models did at their original prices.

The iPhone Air’s storage upgrades saw a pretty big price hike. Moving from 512GB to 1TB now costs another $600, double the previous $300 gap. Ouch.

You can blame these memory price hikes on the AI server boom, as consumer electronic memory production is in short supply.

Meanwhile, the iPhone 17e’s $100 increase brings its entry price just below $1,000 before tax, raising the cost of Apple’s more “affordable” option.

Smartphones are not getting any cheaper. At this point just hold onto what you have for as long as you can, unless you have cash ready to burn for an upgrade.

Apple has increased Canadian prices for the iPhone 17, iPhone Air and iPhone 17e, with buyers now paying…

[16
49,48,190,61
post-889612","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-mobile","tag-ca","tag-canada","tag-mobile","tag-technology
["GET
