As Enes Kanter Freedom continues to challenge the eligibility rules of the WNBA<\/a>, someone else may be tempted to do the same.<\/p>\n

Caitlyn Jenner, who Freedom has mentioned in his \u201cpeace summit\u201d idea to talk with WNBA Commissioner Cathy Engelbert and the WNBA task force<\/a> about the eligibility controversy, mentioned on \u201cPlanet Tyrus\u201d that she has spoken with Freedom on multiple occasions.<\/p>\n

During one of them, Jenner admitted she, as a \u201creal trans person,\u201d told Freedom she might even consider entering the WNBA draft.<\/p>\n

\u201cEnes and I have talked on the phone quite a few times, and I even told him one time \u2014 this is a couple of weeks ago \u2014 \u2018Enes, I\u2019m like a real trans person. Maybe I should sign up for the 2027 WNBA draft,\u2019\u201d Jenner told Tyrus.<\/p>\n

Jenner went on to mention that, back in the 1970s while becoming an American athletic icon as Bruce Jenner following a record-breaking decathlon gold medal at the 1976 Summer Olympics in Montreal<\/a>, she was drafted by the then-Kansas City Kings in the NBA.<\/p>\n

These are the same Kings which now play in Sacramento following an original stint in Kansas City from 1972-85. While Jenner played basketball growing up, it was the decathlon she gave her undivided attention.<\/p>\n

Still, the basketball skill is there, and Jenner is one of the most well-known trans persons in the country. Would the WNBA step in if the 76-year-old entered the draft<\/a>?<\/p>\n

\u201cAll the WNBA had to say was, \u2018You can\u2019t play in our league because you are a man. This is a woman\u2019s league.\u2019 That\u2019s it, it\u2019s over. News cycle\u2019s done,\u201d Tyrus said earlier in their hour-long conversation.<\/p>\n

\u201cMaybe they don\u2019t want the news cycle being done,\u201d Jenner responded. \u201cYes, that\u2019s a good point.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWell, look at Sophie Cunningham and what happened with her \u2014 the WNBA has never got so much press.\u201d<\/p>\n

Late last month, Freedom posted a video on X following his ejection from Wintrust Arena after a spat with Chicago Sky guard Natasha Cloud in a game where they played Cunningham and the Indiana Fever<\/a>. Freedom was speaking directly to Engelbert and the WNBA task force in his video, where he mentioned Jenner could moderate the \u201cpeace summit.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve already spoken with her, and she\u2019s in,\u201d Freedom wrote on X. \u201c\u2026Listen, the whole world is laughing at you. You have turned the #WNBA into a laughingstock. It\u2019s time to stop hiding behind closed-door meetings, excuses, and delays and finally give the public a clear answer. Let\u2019s have a peace summit. No shouting. No hiding. No carefully scripted statements.<\/p>\n

CAITLYN JENNER SAYS THERE\u2019S A \u2018SIMPLE\u2019 SOLUTION TO END THE WNBA\u2019S TRANS ATHLETE DEBATE<\/a><\/p>\n

\u201cLet\u2019s sit across the table from each other, have an open and respectful conversation, and address the questions millions of people are asking.\u201d<\/p>\n

Engelbert and the league have not responded to Freedom, whom referenced the WNBA task force that came to no decision of what justified a woman while deliberating over eligibility concerns in a recent meeting.<\/p>\n

Jenner has long been an advocate for keeping biological men out of women\u2019s sports. She has even given her \u201csimple\u201d solution to end the WNBA\u2019s trans athlete debate amid Freedom and Royce White\u2019s endeavors.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey\u2019re showing the hypocrisy of what\u2019s going on out there in the WNBA,\u201d Jenner said of Kanter and White on \u201cFox News @ Night\u201d<\/a> with Trace Gallagher . \u201cThe WNBA had their meetings on this issue and Cathy (Engelbert), the head, says, \u2018We talked about the trans issue but we just haven\u2019t come up with a conclusion at this point. We will continue the conversation.\u2019 Cathy, XX, you\u2019re in. XY you\u2019re out. It\u2019s that simple.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd both these guys I think are doing a good job just to show the WNBA the hypocrisy<\/a> that\u2019s going on here. We have to protect women\u2019s sports \u2026 I want to protect women\u2019s sports.
