{"id":890620,"date":"2026-09-10T15:12:10","date_gmt":"2026-09-10T15:12:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/890620\/"},"modified":"2026-09-10T15:12:10","modified_gmt":"2026-09-10T15:12:10","slug":"everyone-was-buzzing-pierre-gaslys-monza-pole-brings-belief-and-motivation-to-alpine-ahead-of-2026-spanish-grand-prix","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/890620\/","title":{"rendered":"&#8216;Everyone was buzzing&#8217; \u2013 Pierre Gasly&#8217;s Monza pole &#8216;brings belief and motivation&#8217; to Alpine ahead of 2026 Spanish Grand Prix"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"typography-module_body-s-regular__ul7F5 typography-module_md_body-m-regular__d9VRg typography-module_lg_body-l-regular__dPa5z\">Pierre Gasly believes his Monza pole position &#8220;brings belief and motivation&#8221; to Alpine as the team look for another strong result this weekend at the Spanish Grand Prix.<\/p>\n<p class=\"typography-module_body-s-regular__ul7F5 typography-module_md_body-m-regular__d9VRg typography-module_lg_body-l-regular__dPa5z\"><a class=\"text-brand-hot-red underline decoration-1 hover:decoration-[3px]\" data-f1rd-a7s-click=\"rich_text_atom_click\" data-f1rd-a7s-context=\"eyJhY3Rpb25UeXBlIjoiZ2FzbHlfbGlua19jbGlja2VkIiwiY2xpY2tUZXh0Ijp0cnVlLCJwYXRoIjoiaHR0cHM6Ly93d3cuZm9ybXVsYTEuY29tL2VuL2RyaXZlcnMvcGllcnJlLWdhc2x5IiwicGF0aFR5cGUiOiJpbnRlcm5hbCJ9\" href=\"https:\/\/www.formula1.com\/en\/drivers\/pierre-gasly\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Gasly<\/a>&#8216;s maiden Formula 1 pole position last weekend in Italy was one of the shocks of the season, and signified a remarkable turnaround for the Enstone-based team that spent much of 2025 towards the back of the grid.<\/p>\n<p class=\"typography-module_body-s-regular__ul7F5 typography-module_md_body-m-regular__d9VRg typography-module_lg_body-l-regular__dPa5z\">Speaking on Thursday&#8217;s media day ahead of the inaugural race at the Madring, Gasly believes the performance has given the entire team an extra boost which will keep them pushing towards the front.<\/p>\n<p class=\"typography-module_body-s-regular__ul7F5 typography-module_md_body-m-regular__d9VRg typography-module_lg_body-l-regular__dPa5z\">&#8220;It meant a lot to all the team, because it\u2019s not like we\u2019ve had easy weekends, especially coming from last year into 2026,&#8221; he said. &#8220;We put a lot of effort into this year\u2019s car, and to actually get the reward from all that hard work from everyone was incredible.<\/p>\n<p class=\"typography-module_body-s-regular__ul7F5 typography-module_md_body-m-regular__d9VRg typography-module_lg_body-l-regular__dPa5z\">&#8220;The smiles I could see on the faces in the garage, all the people at the factory \u2013 everyone was buzzing. I\u2019m very pleased for all of them that we were able to do it.<\/p>\n<p class=\"typography-module_body-s-regular__ul7F5 typography-module_md_body-m-regular__d9VRg typography-module_lg_body-l-regular__dPa5z\">&#8220;It just brings that extra confidence and boost of motivation that if we actually get everything right, this type of result \u2014 which seems unachievable \u2014 is actually possible. I think it definitely brings belief and motivation to try to do even better and repeat this type of performance.<\/p>\n<p class=\"typography-module_body-s-regular__ul7F5 typography-module_md_body-m-regular__d9VRg typography-module_lg_body-l-regular__dPa5z\">&#8220;I told the guys it\u2019s been 17 years since there was a pole for Enstone, and I\u2019m not waiting another 17 years until we do another one. So it\u2019s a great boost of motivation, and hopefully we can repeat that in the near future.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"typography-module_body-s-regular__ul7F5 typography-module_md_body-m-regular__d9VRg typography-module_lg_body-l-regular__dPa5z\">Drivers and teams will face a different test this weekend at the Madring, which features high-speed, banked corners around a circuit that is a new venue for all.<\/p>\n<p class=\"typography-module_body-s-regular__ul7F5 typography-module_md_body-m-regular__d9VRg typography-module_lg_body-l-regular__dPa5z\">Gasly added &#8220;it\u2019s going to be a proper racing track&#8221;, and that &#8220;I have no idea about the racing yet, but driving-wise in the simulator it was incredible, so I\u2019m excited to see what it\u2019s like in real life.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"typography-module_body-s-regular__ul7F5 typography-module_md_body-m-regular__d9VRg typography-module_lg_body-l-regular__dPa5z\">Ahead of this weekend, the Frenchman also spent time with footballing legend Zinedine Zidane as the pair filmed a project together, with Gasly stating he was given some advice in the wake of <a class=\"text-brand-hot-red underline decoration-1 hover:decoration-[3px]\" data-f1rd-a7s-click=\"rich_text_atom_click\" data-f1rd-a7s-context=\"eyJhY3Rpb25UeXBlIjoiYWxwaW5lX2xpbmtfY2xpY2tlZCIsImNsaWNrVGV4dCI6dHJ1ZSwicGF0aCI6Imh0dHBzOi8vd3d3LmZvcm11bGExLmNvbS9lbi90ZWFtcy9hbHBpbmUiLCJwYXRoVHlwZSI6ImludGVybmFsIn0=\" href=\"https:\/\/www.formula1.com\/en\/teams\/alpine\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Alpine<\/a>&#8216;s Monza success.<\/p>\n<p class=\"typography-module_body-s-regular__ul7F5 typography-module_md_body-m-regular__d9VRg typography-module_lg_body-l-regular__dPa5z\">&#8220;I\u2019m a big fan of Zizou, so it\u2019s always nice. He\u2019s such a nice guy, and it\u2019s always great to actually have access to him,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"typography-module_body-s-regular__ul7F5 typography-module_md_body-m-regular__d9VRg typography-module_lg_body-l-regular__dPa5z\">&#8220;He\u2019s now the coach of our national team, so you know how much I love football.
