The VANAC has also always been the extroverted one in the King Seiko collection, as compared to their usual cleaner, mid-century designs. The 2025 revival of the VANAC saw a new interpretation into a contemporary sports watch, with a bezel-less, highly faceted case, an integrated-style bracelet and the newly developed and super capable Caliber 8L45.<\/p>\n

2025: King Seiko VANAC<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n This year, Seiko has wisely left its core characteristics alone. Three regular-production models move the same case and bracelet into a very apt titanium build, while a fourth stainless-steel reference marks the company\u2019s 145th anniversary in silver-white and Seiko blue.<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n King Seiko VANAC Titanium HKF001<\/p>\n Seiko 145th Anniversary King Seiko VANAC HKF004<\/p>\n Same Shape, Much Lighter<\/p>\n The new titanium references HKF001, HKF002 and HKF003 retain the dimensions introduced in the revival last year: 41mm in diameter, 14.3mm thick and a 45.1mm lug-to-lug. Its relatively short lug-to-lug keep the watch\u2019s fairly chunky footprint contained on the wrist, and the use of grade 5 titanium makes a sizeable difference too. A full 64g is shaved off for these new references as compared to their stainless-steel counterparts, now weighing around 128g.<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n King Seiko VANAC Titanium HKF001, HKF002 and HKF003<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n Titanium makes a whole lot of sense for the VANAC. It\u2019s a design with a lot of visual metal surfaces, from the broad case sides and angular shoulders to the bracelet that runs directly into the case. Steel gives the watch a whole lot of presence, but titanium preserves that visual muscle into something considerably easier to wear.<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n King Seiko VANAC Titanium HKF001<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n Its darker grey tone also strengthens the contrast between the mirror-polished facets and the brushed surfaces. The bracelet continues the horizontal lines of the case through a series of short links, producing an integrated-style silhouette. Though technically, its quick release spring bars mean it is not truly integrated with the case.<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n King Seiko VANAC Titanium HKF003<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n A Little Tokyo Drift on the Dial<\/p>\n The dial is where Seiko has done a more obvious redesign. While the 2025 watches saw mainly horizontal striping, these new titanium ones combine those lines with a pattern that radiates outward from the center. Seiko says its colors and design evoke racing along the Tokyo highways towards the city\u2019s horizon. It\u2019s hard not to imagine the Drift King rocking one if Tokyo Drift ever gets a remake.<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n The colors are purple for the HKF001, grey for the HKF002 and black for the HKF003. All retain the luminous minute and hour hands, hour markers, the framed window at three o\u2019clock and the recurring \u201cV\u201d motif found at the 12 o\u2019clock marker and on the seconds-hand counterweight. The hour markers also appear to be cleaner than the previous, now extended across the minute tracks.<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n King Seiko VANAC Titanium HKF002<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n The purple-dial HKF001 has already picked up a major nod: a place among the six watches selected by the GPHG Academy for the 2026 \u201cChallenge\u201d category. It\u2019s a fitting recognition \u2013 and proof that the VANAC\u2019s particular brand of 1970s futurism still has plenty of bite.<\/p>\n Seiko Blue for 145 Years<\/p>\n The limited-edition HKF004 heads back to the heftier stainless-steel case and simpler horizon-striped dial of the existing VANAC. This time, the silver-white center is surrounded by a vivid blue index ring, with the same shade applied to all three hands.<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n Seiko 145th Anniversary King Seiko VANAC HKF004<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n The blue is not a random selection. Seiko traces their \u201cSeiko Blue\u201d back to the 60s, and it serves as the common thread running through the company\u2019s second series of 145th anniversary watches. It\u2019s a celebration of 145 years since Kintaro Hattori opened the business that would eventually become Seiko in 1881.<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n<\/a><\/p>\n
