In his absence, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.idlprocycling.com\/matteo-jorgenson\" title=\"Matteo Jorgenson\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Matteo Jorgenson<\/a> took on leadership duties for Visma | Lease a Bike on Canada\u2019s east coast.Barr\u00e9 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.idlprocycling.com\/cycling\/france-concerned-over-vismas-barre-who-could-now-miss-world-championships\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">suffered<\/a> the injury in an unfortunate crash in Canada, which will also cost him his place at the World Championships. The Frenchman had finally begun to find his best form after a difficult start with his new team, underlined by stage victories at both the Tour de Pologne and the Deutschland Tour.With the ill Victor Campenaerts also leaving the race relatively early, Visma | Lease a Bike spent most of the day with just five riders. \u201cThe team rode a good race, but there were also things we could have done better,\u201d sports director Robert Wagner admitted in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.teamvismaleaseabike.com\/race-report\/news\/jorgenson-finishes-eighth-after-strong-team-effort-in-gp-qu%C3%A9bec\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">team\u2019s official race report.<\/a> Jorgenson eventually finished eighth in Qu\u00e9bec, while Bart Lemmen also played an important supporting role in the finale.<\/p>\n<p>Read more below the photo. <\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"720\" height=\"405\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/louis-barre-6aa4edf527453.jpg@webp.webp\" class=\"w-auto h-auto\" alt=\"louis-barre\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Louis Barr\u00e9 broke his wrist.<\/p>\n<p>Visma | Lease a Bike confident ahead of GP Montr\u00e9al<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOf course it\u2019s a big loss that Louis couldn\u2019t take part, because on this course he would have been among the favourites,\u201d Wagner said. \u201cBut as a team we showed ourselves well today, and I saw a strong Bart and Matteo.\u201d Lemmen worked for his American teammate in the decisive phase as Jorgenson battled his way into the top ten.<\/p>\n<p>Jorgenson eventually crossed the line in eighth place. \u201cIt\u2019s good to see that the legs were good,\u201d Wagner continued. \u201cMatteo already made a strong impression today, but on Sunday there\u2019s a tougher course waiting for him, one that should suit him even better.
