Jean Silva overcame a difficult start to submit Jose Delgado in the UFC Noche main event and close out the card with an impressive finish.<\/p>\n
The featherweight bout between Jean Silva and Jose Delgado headlined the UFC<\/a> Noche event. It went down at Desert Diamond Arena in Glendale, Arizona, on September 12.\u00a0<\/p>\n The\u00a0 UFC Noche <\/a>main card featured all fights ending in decisions, except for the event headliner. All credit goes to Silva, who delivered an impressive performance to end the event on a high note.\u00a0<\/p>\n Jean Silva caps off UFC Noche with submission win over Jose Delgado<\/p>\n Silva started slowly and didn\u2019t land a single significant strike for almost three minutes. Delgado relied on leg kicks early but didn\u2019t throw many punches. Silva maintained a wide stance throughout the opening exchanges. The Mexican then dropped Silva with a clean right hand, but Silva immediately got back to his feet. \u00a0\u2018The Lord’ struggled heavily in the first round.\u00a0<\/p>\n In the second round, it was much better for Silva, while Delgado used his reach well and landed several strikes. The Brazilian shut it down by securing a takedown, but couldn\u2019t capitalize, allowing the Mexican to work his way back to his feet. The two exchanged strikes back and forth throughout the round, with the pace increasing significantly in the final 10 seconds as \u2018Lord\u2019 began showing more urgency.<\/p>\n Silva came out with constant pressure, continually moving forward and pressing Delgado against the fence while throwing combinations. He landed a straight right overhand that dropped the 28-year-old.
