Prime Minister Mark Carney will hold his marquee investment summit in Toronto starting Monday. The two-day Canada Investment Summit is expected to be a gathering of global investors, top Canadian executives and government with a goal to help facilitate $1 trillion in total investment in Canada over the next five years. <\/p>\n

Inflation <\/p>\n

Statistics Canada is set to release its latest reading for inflation on Monday morning when it publishes its consumer price index for August. The annual inflation rate rose to three per cent in July as higher gas prices helped push the key data point higher. Excluding gasoline, the annual inflation rate was 2.2 per cent in July. <\/p>\n
