That read to many as an implication that his\u00a0Slow Horses\u00a0costar Jack Lowden landed the gig, but now the former Winston Churchill\u2019s popped back in to basically say \u201cwhoops.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>At a recent TIFF Visionaries session, the actor amended that he doesn\u2019t actually know who\u2019ll be the next Bond. Asked by host Josh Horowitz if he\u2019d introduce Lowden as the next 007, Oldman said the press has taken things to the \u201cvery edge of almost misquoting me, but they don\u2019t. [\u2026] A Canadian journalist asked me about Bond and Jack Lowden. I didn\u2019t bring it up,\u00a0she\u00a0brought it up, I didn\u2019t volunteer this.\u201d He stood by his initial comment of hearing an actor had been picked among the shortlist, and that he was still \u201cfingers crossed for my man Jack. That was it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Gary setting the record straight on the Bond speculation \ud83d\ude42\u200d\u2195\ufe0f <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/aXTGtZPbrq\" rel=\"nofollow\">pic.twitter.com\/aXTGtZPbrq<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Agus (@riverscoat) <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/riverscoat\/status\/2098346559620420021?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" rel=\"nofollow\">September 11, 2026<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Among the crowd\u2019s laughter, Oldman joked that he knows who got picked because he\u2019s got an in with the Bond team, before emphatically stating: \u201cI do\u00a0not\u00a0know who the next James Bond is.\u201d If it seems like he\u2019s doing a bit much, it\u2019s because he recalled when he got \u201creprimanded\u201d for offhandedly telling press a third Batman movie was coming post-The Dark Knight.
