In July 2025, the Law Society Tribunal of Ontario revoked Mann&#8217;s licence after finding he had knowingly participated in a mortgage fraud scheme in late 2019.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The Fraud Bureau opened its investigation in August 2025, following multiple complaints received between June and July of that year.<\/p>\n<p>Trust accounts at the centre of the alleged scheme<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">According to Peel Regional Police, the alleged fraud involved the misuse of legal trust accounts \u2014 mechanisms through which funds are held securely during property and mortgage transactions.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Brokers and their clients rely on lawyer-held trust accounts as a fundamental safeguard in residential closings, making the alleged abuse of that function a direct threat to the integrity of mortgage transactions.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The investigation uncovered four separate incidents resulting in approximately $4.3 million in losses.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"The arrest follows a regulatory action completed the prior year.
