On Wednesday the Indiana Fever will continue their playoff push as they take on the Toronto Tempo. That game just got a little easier as the Tempo announced today that <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/richarddeitsch\/status\/2100253765047554544\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">All-Star Marina Mabrey will miss the rest of the season<\/a> with a right adductor injury.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Mabrey is the team\u2019s leading scorer and second in assists this season. She\u2019s averaging a career-high 20.8 points per game, which is the fifth best scoring average in the WNBA. Mabrey is averaging 3.7 assists and 3.3 rebounds this season. Her first season in Toronto has been a revelation.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Tempo took Mabrey with the No. 6 pick in the expansion draft and put her straight to work. She has the third-highest usage rate in the WNBA this season behind A\u2019ja Wilson and Caitlin Clark. <\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">MORE: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thebiglead.com\/12-best-postseason-performances-in-wnba-history\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">12 best postseason performances in WNBA history<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Marina Mabrey\u2019s breakout season<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">She is shooting 38.5% on 8.5 three-point attempts (No. 2 in the league) a game. Her 3.3 makes a game is tied with Rhyne Howard for the most in the league, right ahead of Kelsey Mitchell and Caitlin Clark. She also made 88.1% of her free throws this season on 4.5 attempts a night.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Earlier this season she tied the WNBA single-game scoring record with 53 points. The record was originally set by Liz Cambridge in 2018 and equaled by Wilson in 2023. Mabrey made 17-of-28 field goal attempts and connected on 9-of-18 three-pointers in 32 minutes against a helpless Los Angeles Sparks squad. <\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The good news about shutting Mabrey down is that the Tempo weren\u2019t in a position to make a playoff push anyway. The team is 11-29 in its inaugural season.
