{"id":899772,"date":"2026-09-17T23:54:09","date_gmt":"2026-09-17T23:54:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/899772\/"},"modified":"2026-09-17T23:54:09","modified_gmt":"2026-09-17T23:54:09","slug":"power-rallies-to-make-fast-start-in-asheville","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/899772\/","title":{"rendered":"Power rallies to make fast start in Asheville"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Ireland&#8217;s Seamus Power rallied back from a slow start to shoot an opening round of five-under-par 66 on day one of the Biltmore Championship in Asheville.<\/p>\n<p>The Waterford man, who missed the cut at last week&#8217;s Amgen Irish Open in Doonbeg, finished his round just two shots back of the clubhouse lead, shared by Eric Cole and Max Greyserman.<\/p>\n<p>Power made an early bogey on the par five third hole, paying the price for an errant tee shot and having to take a penalty drop. Yet, from there, he never looked back.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rte.ie\/sport\/results\/golf\/pga-tour-1\/28348\/biltmore-championship-asheville-920206\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">FULL LEADERBOARD<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Birdies followed at four and five, with another at the par five eighth hole as Power made the turn in 33 shots, at two-under-par.<\/p>\n<p>Another birdie followed at the tenth, stitching an iron to three feet for his three.
