BC Lions defensive back Josh Hagerty was suspended by the CFL on Thursday.

The 28-year-old Regina native received a two-game ban for “striking” Montreal Alouettes running back Liam Talbot during the Lions’ 48-29 win at BC Place.

Two games represent roughly 11 per cent of a CFL season, so it’s significant. But a number of fans are up in arms about this one, saying that Hagerty got off too lightly.

That’s because Hagerty didn’t just strike Talbot; he appeared to strike him in the groin — twice. And it seems to have done some damage.
