Kim Kardashian revealed that she\u2019s been diagnosed with esophagitis \u2014 a condition related to esophageal cancer, which her father died from in 2003. <\/p>\n
The reality TV icon, 45, made the stunning confession in the Season 8\u00a0trailer for \u201cThe Kardashians\u201d <\/a>which dropped on Friday. <\/p>\n From what appears to be an MUA chair, Kim says, \u201cI have something called esophagitis,\u201d as stylists comb out her hair.<\/p>\n The Skims founder is then seen in a hospital gown reclining in a hospital bed, as someone offscreen says, \u201cDidn\u2019t your father\u2026 isn\u2019t that what he died of?\u201d to which Kim replies, \u201cyeah.\u201d <\/p>\n Kim Kardashian revealed a diagnosis of esophagitis in the Season 8 trailer for \u201cThe Kardashians,\u201d as seen above. Hulu<\/p>\n The reality star, seen here in the trailer, said she has \u201csomething called esophagitis.\u201d Hulu\/YouTube<\/p>\n Family matriarch Kris Jenner, 70, is then seen in an emotional confessional, saying, \u201cI can\u2019t\u2026it makes me want to cry.\u201d<\/p>\n Though Kim\u2019s father, attorney Robert Kardashian, died of esophageal cancer at the age of 59 \u2014 with the famed patriarch succumbing just eight weeks after his diagnosis \u2014 the overall risk of developing cancer stemming from the condition is low.<\/p>\n According to the Mayo Clinic<\/a>, most cases of esophageal cancer \u201care not clearly linked to a gene passed down in families.\u201d <\/p>\n The famous family memorialized the late attorney by announcing a UCLA health center in his honor<\/a> back in 2019, with Kim sharing the news via social media. <\/p>\n Her father, Robert Kardashian, seen here in a throwback image, died of esophageal cancer in 2003.
