The Fever guard entered the game with seven technical fouls, leaving her one technical away from an automatic one-game suspension under the WNBA’s regular-season disciplinary rules.

Clark also had another disciplinary situation emerge during the game. The sequence occurred in the fourth quarter as she drove toward the basket.

MORE: Caitlin Clark snubbed again as Team USA earns praises

Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark (22). Clark missed the shot, but officials called a foul on Harrison during the play.

Clark then made contact with Harrison’s face with her left hand as she moved toward the basket. Officials reviewed the sequence and upgraded Clark’s foul to a Flagrant Foul Penalty 1.

The initial foul gave Clark two free throws. The Flagrant 1 also gave Harrison two free throws and awarded Toronto possession. Harrison missed both attempts.

The WNBA rulebook defines a Flagrant 1 as unnecessary contact against an opponent. A Flagrant 2 involves unnecessary and excessive contact and results in an ejection after replay review.

Under the league’s current disciplinary system, a Flagrant 1 carries one flagrant point. Each flagrant point carries a $500 fine. Four flagrant points trigger an automatic one-game suspension.

Caitlin Clark’s history with flagrant and technical fouls

Clark now has two flagrant points after her Flagrant 1 call against the Golden State Valkyries back in May. The Fever guard has also accumulated a significant number of technical fouls in 2026.

She has seven entering the final portion of the regular season, including technicals for exchanges with opponents and officials. An eighth technical was initially assessed against her in August before the WNBA rescinded it.

Clark acknowledged her foul troubles on Thursday, telling reporters she has been communicating more with referees because she knows she is close to the suspension threshold. With three regular season games left for Fever, avoiding another technical foul and limiting further disciplinary issues will be crucial.

— Enjoy free coverage of the top news & trending stories with The Big Lead Newsletter —

Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever returned from the FIBA Women’s World Cup break on Friday night, facing…

[629
49,735,48,2803,82,630
post-901947","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-wnba","tag-ca","tag-caitlin-clark","tag-canada","tag-indiana-fever","tag-sports","tag-wnba
["GET
