{"id":903060,"date":"2026-09-20T16:14:14","date_gmt":"2026-09-20T16:14:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/903060\/"},"modified":"2026-09-20T16:14:14","modified_gmt":"2026-09-20T16:14:14","slug":"historic-f1-grand-prix-return-quite-far-from-happening","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/903060\/","title":{"rendered":"Historic F1 grand prix return &#8216;quite far from happening&#8217;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Nico Hulkenberg has acknowledged that a return of the German Grand Prix appears \u201cfar from happening\u201d.\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n<p>The event last appeared on the F1 schedule in 2019, with Hockenheim bowing out of the sport with one of the most chaotic races of the decade.\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n<p>F1 has held a grand prix in Germany since then, with Nurburgring step in during the Covid-impacted campaign in 2020 under the Eifel Grand Prix banner.\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n<p>F1 CEO Stefano Domenicali recently addressed the potential return of the German Grand Prix, <a href=\"https:\/\/racingnews365.com\/f1-ceo-addresses-potential-return-of-historic-grand-prix\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">admitting the sport was open to the possibility.<\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n<p>But Hulkenberg does not see such a development anytime soon.\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTime will tell,\u201d\u00a0Hulkenberg told media including RacingNews365.\u00a0\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAt the moment it feels and seems quite far from that happening.\u201d\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n<p>[Article continues below]\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\t\tHulkenberg backs F1 to bring &#8216;benefits&#8217; to new countries<\/p>\n<p>F1 is currently seeing interest from various nations as they attempt to get a spot on the calendar, with Rwanda, South Africa and Thailand among those who have voiced their desire.\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n<p>However, a new contender has also emerged in Argentina, with the sport enjoying a boost in popularity there due to Franco Colapinto&#8217;s presence on the grid.\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n<p>Hulkenberg stated it would be a major benefit for any country to have F1 visit it for a weekend.\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n<p>\u201cArgentina and Franco have a big impact, they have a huge following, a huge fan base,\u201d Hulkenberg said.\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf F1 has a driver of that nation, that&#8217;s obviously a big connection point and brings that nation closer to F1.\u00a0\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut all in all, it&#8217;s more F1, it&#8217;s attractive for a lot of countries to host the venue because it brings a lot of benefits.\u00a0\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt brings a lot of attention to the country for that weekend.\u201d\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Nico Hulkenberg has acknowledged that a return of the German Grand Prix appears \u201cfar from happening\u201d.
