\n\tSylvester Stallone<\/a> may hold the Trump<\/a>-bestowed title of \u201cspecial ambassador\u201d to Hollywood, but nearly two years since his appointment, the \u201cRocky\u201d actor has divulged that he didn\u2019t explicitly sign up for the role.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cWell, it just happened,\u201d the Oscar nominee noted in a recent interview with The Sunday Times<\/a>. \u201cI was watching TV one night and they go, \u2018So Stallone and Mel Gibson and Jon Voight will be\u2009\u2026\u2019 And I went, \u2018What?\u2019 I said, \u2018Excuse me? Really?\u2019 Because if they had asked me in the beginning, I would have said, this is not possible.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThe star continued to open up about his reservations surrounding the appointment, and if he was hesitant: \u201cYes, because Hollywood, I guess it\u2019s like feudal states. They have their little kingdoms. You don\u2019t go in and tell six studios how to do things. And Mel Gibson and Jon Voight, we\u2019re kind of do-our-own-thing people.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tHe even recalled telling Trump that \u201cit won\u2019t work.\u201d \u201cI said thank you and ciao, because it\u2019s impossible. Hollywood works, and it will evolve. It\u2019s corporate and corporate people won\u2019t want to hear me tell them about finance.\u201d <\/p>\n

\n\tStallone, Gibson and Voight were first announced <\/a>as \u201cspecial ambassadors\u201d by the current president in Jan. 2025 when he shared the following statement on Truth Social: \u201cIt is my honor to announce Jon Voight, Mel Gibson, and Sylvester Stallone, to be Special Ambassadors to a great but very troubled place, Hollywood, California. They will serve as Special Envoys to me for the purpose of bringing Hollywood, which has lost much business over the last four years to Foreign Countries, BACK\u2014BIGGER, BETTER, AND STRONGER THAN EVER BEFORE! These three very talented people will be my eyes and ears, and I will get done what they suggest. It will again be, like The United States of America itself, The Golden Age of Hollywood!\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tDespite Stallone\u2019s initial feelings about the appointment, the actor still speaks fondly of Trump.
