THE CANADIAN PRESS\/Graham Hughes<\/p>\n<p>By The Canadian Press<\/p>\n<p>\n\t\t\t\tSep 20, 2026 | 5:01 PM\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n<p>MONTREAL \u2014 Cyclist Remco Evenepoel had the opportunity to make history in Montreal, and he didn\u2019t miss his chance.<\/p>\n<p>The 26-year-old Belgian set a record by winning the men\u2019s elite individual time trial at the Road World Championships for the fourth consecutive year on Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>Evenepoel, who had won the Grand Prix cycliste de Qu\u00e9bec just over a week ago, completed the 39.2-kilometre technical Montreal course in 44:53.13, 57 seconds faster than Italy\u2019s Filippo Ganna.<\/p>\n<p>The young French prodigy, Paul Seixas, claimed the bronze medal by finishing 16 seconds behind Ganna.
