Presley Gerber, the 27-year-old son of supermodel Cindy Crawford and her husband Rande Gerber, and the brother of actress and model Kaia Gerber, died Sunday.<\/p>\n

TMZ<\/a> was the first outlet to report the sad news, with the L.A. County Medical Examiner confirming Gerber’s death in a rehab facility.<\/p>\n

A rep for Cindy, Rande and Kaia said in a statement, \u201cThe family is asking for privacy during this very difficult and painful time.\u201d<\/p>\n

Presley\u2019s issues with substance abuse and his mental health were well-known.<\/p>\n

In January 2019, he was arrested on a DUI, which led to his being sentenced to serving three years of probation and completing a DUI program as well as participating in community service.<\/p>\n

At the end of 2025, Presley spoke candidly about his struggles in an Instagram video<\/a> that has since been pulled.<\/p>\n

In that video, Presley admitted he was taking buprenorphine, Xanax, and valium for panic attacks, saying, \u201cThe benzos have been fluctuating up and down depending on what\u2018s been going on in my life. Unfortunately, I\u2018ve had a lot of loss in many different forms recently, so that is not an excuse, but it\u2018s the reason why I am where I\u2018m at now.\u201d<\/p>\n

According him at the time, he opted for Xanax \u201cwhen the panic attacks are really, really bad\u201d and was taking Valium \u201ca little bit in the morning.\u201d<\/p>\n

He added, \u201cI don\u2019t know if it’s a little bit or a lot, who f**king knows at this point anymore.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

Gerber admitted \u201cit\u2019s kind of scary\u201d with the medications, explaining, \u201cThe things that scare me are the things you need to take\u2026 If you don’t take them, something not good happens. And there\u2018s a spectrum there on how intense the withdrawal from certain medications is.\u201d<\/p>\n

Presley also shared that he had been sober from alcohol for a several months at that time.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Gerber, a former model in his own right, expressed a desire to surround himself with people who would be \u201cgood influences on me,\u201d adding, \u201cAs I\u2018ve grown up in Hollywood, there\u2019s a lot of people around me that I love to death, but right now I try not to be around them.\u201d<\/p>\n

Presley hoped that people would relate to his raw video, saying, \u201cSo, you feel like you\u2019re not alone, because that is how I feel most of the time and I have a feeling that if I say all of this, a lot of people will at least know that there’s someone else going through it. And the second thing is, hopefully I find some people out here and are willing to help or know someone that can help.\u201d<\/p>\n

Just a month ago, Kaia Gerber, who is appearing on \u201cThe Shards,\u201d told Vogue<\/a> of her brother\u2018s journey, \u201cMy parents for most of our lives were very, very private and didn\u2019t share anything \u2014 and now we have this absolute teacher, my brother, who says, \u2018I\u2019m gonna be very human for everyone.\u2019 There\u2019s only so much you can hide from the world.
