\n\tKit Harington<\/a> is feeling warmer \u2014 a bit \u2014 towards the idea of reprising his iconic fan-favorite role of Jon Snow, and discussed his return to HBO in the upcoming Harry Potter TV series. <\/p>\n

\n\tThe actor first told the Happy Sad Confused podcast Monday that he actually feels more comfortable with the idea of reprising the reluctant Game of Thrones<\/a> warrior than he did in the past.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe topic was raised when Harington was asked about HBO\u2019s Snow spinoff sequel that was developed several years ago and then shelved.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cWe developed it two years or so,\u201d Harington said. \u201cI still think there\u2019s a world in which something could work. I wouldn\u2019t have gone into it in the first place if I didn\u2019t. But I was very insistent at the start \u2014 as was HBO and George R.R. Martin \u2014 of like: \u2018If we don\u2019t find the right thing, let\u2019s not do it. It\u2019s much better if we don\u2019t.\u2019 After a little while of of thinking about it \u2014 it kind of was me \u2014 [I said], \u2018This isn\u2019t quite the right [story].’\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tContinued Harington: \u201c[But] now I\u2019ve gone and done all these other things and now I feel more comfortable with that character and that world again and where it sits in my life.\u201d <\/p>\n

\n\tYet it was another franchise headed to HBO that helped Harington with his sobriety struggles \u2014 Harry Potter. Harington told the podcast that the Potter audiobooks were helpful in the wake of ditching alcohol. \u201cMy brain is incredibly busy, especially at night, and I\u2019ve always found going to bed very difficult like and my brain doesn\u2019t turn off,\u201d he said. \u201cWhen I got sober that got especially bad. So I started listening to Harry Potter audio books, and now they\u2019re the thing I listen to every night.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tTHR broke the news<\/a> of the Snow development in 2022. In our cover story profile<\/a> of Martin in January, we reported the initial idea was a tale of Snow living alone as a broken man with PTSD, having chased off his direwolf Ghost and thrown away his sword Longclaw. Harington wanted Jon to eventually die and to avoid being a hero.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe story echoed, in some respects, Harington\u2019s personal struggles \u2014 entering rehab following an intense shooting experience on Thrones. Last year, a new writer (Quoc Dang Tran from Drops of God) came aboard to attempt to revive the sequel idea, possibility shifting the drama to the Mediterranean-like land of Essos.<\/p>\n

\n\tHarington was cast as Gilderoy Lockhart in the Full Cast Audio editions of the Potter books, which were released last year. Last month, Harington was cast to join HBO\u2019s live-action Harry Potter series, where he\u2019ll play the dangerously narcissistic Defense Against the Dark Arts professor in season two. <\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cLockhart is addicted to himself,\u201d Harington quips. \u201cIt\u2019s just a tiny step to my left [for me].\u201d<\/p>\n
