Riders will need to board some Brampton Transit routes from temporary stops when the city shuts down a bus terminal for construction.<\/p>\n
The city says it will be closing the Heart Lake Bus Terminal on Conestoga Drive starting in October to allow for upgrade projects, including accessibility enhancements, new boarding platforms with indicator surfaces, new lighting and updated tactile walking surfaces.<\/p>\n
The temporary closure will see bus stops within the terminal relocated to nearby on-street locations.<\/p>\n
The city says local residents and transit riders can expect noise, temporary eastbound lane reductions on Conestoga Drive and pedestrian detours around the terminal while the construction is underway.<\/p>\n
\u201cConstruction is expected to be completed by the end of the year,\u201d the city says.<\/p>\n
Noisy construction work will be limited to 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Mondays through Fridays, and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays, the city says.<\/p>\n
