The Los Angeles Rams<\/a> are on track for their first win of the season. Despite two turnovers and a missed field goal in the second quarter, they carried a 14-3 lead over the New York Giants<\/a> into the locker room at halftime and are in the midst of a bounce-back performance from their Week 1 clunker in Australia.<\/p>\n

It was unclear what to expect from the Rams, considering they were coming off a loss and ruled star wide receiver Puka Nacua<\/a> out with a hip injury. They needed another pass-catcher to step up in order to mitigate the massive personnel loss and to right the ship after last week’s seven-point effort, and Davante Adams<\/a> did just that. The veteran receiver hauled in five catches for 145 yards and his first touchdown of the year in the first two quarters alone.<\/p>\n

New York’s defense stepped up to keep the game close, but a key offensive injury is the story of the night thus far for the visiting squad. Jaxson Dart<\/a> left the game on the final play of the opening possession<\/a>. The Giants quarterback took a hit from Rams defenders\u00a0Josaiah Stewart<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Byron Young<\/a>\u00a0mid-throw on a third-down deep ball, and in the collision, his left knee bent awkwardly in the air. He was able to walk into the locker room under his own power, but his return remains questionable.<\/p>\n

The Giants also had brief injury scares with star wide receiver Malik Nabers<\/a> (shoulder) and rookie edge rusher Arvell Reese<\/a> leaving momentarily in the first half for evaluation on the sideline. Both returned to action.<\/p>\n

Jameis Winston<\/a> is in to lead the New York offense and needs to improve upon a 4-for-12 first half in order for the Giants to have a chance in this game.<\/p>\n
