The staff for the television anime<\/a> of Brocco Lee<\/a>‘s manga adaptation of Nekoko<\/a>‘s The Exiled Heavy Knight Knows How to Game the System (Tsuih\u014d Sareta Tensei J\u016b Kishi wa Game Chishiki de Mus\u014d Suru<\/a>) light novel series revealed on Thursday the main trailer, key visual, new cast members, and theme songs for the anime’s second cours<\/a> (quarter of a year). VTuber Tokoyami Towa performs the new opening theme song “Rewrite the Answer,” and rock band PompadollS<\/a> perform the new ending theme song “Contemporary Dance.” The trailer previews both songs:<\/p>\n

Kodansha<\/a> is releasing the manga in English through its K MANGA<\/a> service, and it describes the story:<\/p>\n

\t“You good-for-nothing bastard. You are the son of a Sword Saint, yet you dare pull such a defective Class!?”<\/p>\n

During the Divine Blessing Ceremony of the 15-year-old Elma who came from a lineage of Sword Saints, he had manifested a commonly deemed defective class known as the Heavy Knight. He had been deprived of his position as the next head of the Edvan Household and was then exiled. The Heavy Knight class had an unbalanced status and useless skills, to top it off, it was even said to be a class cowardly and indolent people have.<\/p>\n

But, Elma knew better\u2014that this world was the world of the game he had used to play before\u2014and that the Heavy Knight class was the strongest class to exist. Elma made full use of the knowledge he had in his previous life and began his efficient walkthrough of the world he was reincarnated into.\n<\/p>\n

The anime debuted on July 2 on TBS<\/a> and MBS<\/a>‘ Super Animeism TURBO programming block at 24:26 JST (effectively, July 3 at 12:26 a.m.), and airs for two consecutive cours. Crunchyroll<\/a> streams<\/a> the series as it airs, and also streams<\/a> an English dub<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The anime stars:\n<\/p>\n

Shingo Suzuki<\/a> is the general director, and Katsumasa Yokomine<\/a> (The Masterful Cat Is Depressed Again Today<\/a>, Momentary Lily<\/a>) is directing the anime at GoHands<\/a>. Takayuki Uchida<\/a> (The Girl I Like Forgot Her Glasses<\/a>, The Masterful Cat Is Depressed Again Today, W’z) is designing the characters, and also serving as one of the chief animation directors along with Keiji Tani<\/a> (Momentary Lily) and Makoto Furuta<\/a> (Momentary Lily). Tetsuichi Yamagishi<\/a> (Cowboy Bebop: The Movie<\/a> key animation) is the chief director, Hiroshi \u014ckubo<\/a> (K, The Girl I Like Forgot Her Glasses) is the main animator, Glovision<\/a> is in charge of sound production, Enji Nakajima<\/a> and Tetsuya Gunji<\/a> are the sound directors, and Ludvig Forssell<\/a> (BELLE<\/a> film) is composing the music.<\/p>\n

Nekoko began serializing<\/a> the story on the Sh\u014dsetsuka ni Nar\u014d (Let’s Become Novelists) website in April 2021. Kodansha published the first print volume with illustrations by Jaian<\/a> in June 2022, and the fifth volume shipped on July 2. Brocco Lee launched<\/a> the manga adaptation in Kodansha’s Yanmaga website in February 2022. The manga moved from Kodansha’s Yanmaga website to Kodansha’s Young Magazine<\/a> in September 2024. The manga’s 19th compiled book volume will ship on October 6.<\/p>\n

Seven Seas Entertainment<\/a> also publishes Nekoko’s Reincarnated as a Dragon Hatchling<\/a> and Disciple of the Lich light novel<\/a> series in English, and also publishes RIO’s manga adaptation of the Reincarnated as a Dragon Hatchling novels.<\/p>\n
