Short-term road closures will be in place at existing construction sites in south Winnipeg starting Thursday night, the city says.<\/p>\n
Weather permitting, northbound Pembina Highway will be closed intermittently at Abinojii Mikanah for a maximum of 10 minutes at a time from 10 p.m. Thursday until 2 a.m. Friday, the city said in a news release Thursday.<\/p>\n
The ramp from northbound Pembina to westbound Abinojii Mikanah will be closed Saturday. The left-turn ramp from westbound Abinojii Mikanah to southbound Pembina will also close. All westbound vehicles will have to turn right, or northbound, on Pembina.<\/p>\n
Northbound Pembina will be reduced to one lane between Adamar Road and Chancellor Drive on Saturday and Sunday.<\/p>\n
The ramp from eastbound Abinojii Mikanah onto northbound Pembina will close Sunday. All eastbound vehicles on the ramp must turn right, or southbound, on Pembina. There will also be no access onto Pembina from northbound University Crescent.<\/p>\n
All northbound vehicles on University Crescent will need to exit on the eastbound Abinojii Mikanah ramp Sunday.<\/p>\n
There will also be no left turns from southbound Pembina onto southbound University Crescent, and no access from northbound Pembina onto the eastbound Abinojii Mikanah ramp.<\/p>\n
Bombers game, block party<\/p>\n
Traffic restrictions will also be adjusted on Abinojii Mikanah at River Road to accommodate traffic to and from the Winnipeg Blue Bombers game Friday night, the city says.<\/p>\n
Two lanes of travel will be maintained on westbound Abinojii Mikanah at River leading up to the game. A second lane of eastbound travel will also open up at the end of the game.<\/p>\n
For Saturday’s Bisons Block Party, the city says part of Chancellor Matheson Road will fully close from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.<\/p>\n
The city says drivers should plan ahead, use alternate routes and expect delays during the closures.<\/p>\n
